Trade for Slaton? WHIR 100%

Postby soty » Wed Nov 04, 2009 10:11 am

Hey guys I have been trying to get Slaton from this guy all year, who needs a QB btw After I sent him an offer he sent me a counter offer through email that he would do Slaton for my Stewart and Orton. A few weeks ago I probably would have done it, but since this weekends benching after yet another fumble for Slaton I am doubting him now. Team and settings in sig below. This is a keeper.

12 Team | H2H | 7 Keepers | QB 3WR 2RB TE W/R DEF K DB DL LB
25 Pass/Return Yds (1pt) | 10 Rush/Rec Yds (1pt) | PPR (0.5pts) | TDs (6pts)

QB: C Palmer, K Orton
WR: A Johnson, W Welker, B Marshall, J Cribbs, A Caldwell, P Garcon, M Floyd
RB: R Brown, C Benson, J Stewart, D McFadden
TE; T Heap, Z Miller
K: R Longwell
DEF: Baltimore, Denver
IDP: D Manning, J Tuck, B Ruud

Who is left out there in Waiver land at QB? You'll need a replacement for Orton. If you can pick up a guy like Alex Smith, then I'd make the trade. It's anyone's guess as to Slaton's value going forward, but I have to think that Slaton regains the load at some point. Slaton is an upgrade over Stewart, but losing Orton will hurt if Palmer goes down, so I think this one hinges on what you can get as a replacement for Orton.

Thanks for the help with mine. But, I gotta ask, when you said "I like the LT Side" what did you mean?

not sure why you want slaton at this point...all your RB's are past their bye's and Brown and Benson are auto starts every week and Stewart is a great Flex play especially in a 12 team league. i'd stay put.

Thanks for the help on mine and I agree with the guy who said stay put. I don't think you want to give much value for Slaton.
12 Team League. We start 2 QBs and get .5 PPR, otherwise standard scoring
QBs: Stafford, Fitzpatrick, Collins
RBs: Charles, Mendenhall, Best, Starks, Carter, Karim
WRs: D. Jackson, Marshall, S. Smith, Green,
TE: Hernandez, Cook

Thanks for the help on mine.

I don't know what to make of Slaton from here on out. The talent is there, obviously - but being benched, and having your backup go off is never a good sign. Especially now that Kubiak has stated Moats and Brown will both get reps.

I think with Benson and Brown, Slaton may not get a lot of time, anyway. I'd stand pat, personally.

Think I'd stand pat and see what happens with Slaton. Too risky to give up to starters in Stewart and Orton right now.

I like Slaton a lot, however, until we see what happens in the next couple of weeks in terms of his role, I would stand pat.

Thanks for the help on mine.

I do not see any real benefit for you to make this trade. You'd really be downgrading at QB#2 by losing Orton and having to pick someone up off the WW and you already have solid starting RBs and a good flex in Stewart so I really don't see much value being added to your team with this trade. Throw in the fact that Slaton got benched and his backup had a good game last week and I'd go so far as to say it'd be crazy for you to make this trade.
