Pats sign J. J. Stokes

Postby nsulham » Tue Nov 18, 2003 7:46 pm

Anyone needing a possible WR sleeper might want to look at J.J.
Patten's done for the year, Brown's banged up, Givens is gimpy and Branch is the go-to-guy right now.

If Stokes can pick up the system quick he could slide right into the #2 WR spot for NE and be the big WR they've never had.

I think its a much better fit for him than Jax, but I really dont see him being a factor for fantasy players this year.

I don't think any Pats' WR is a fantasy starter. Even Troy Brown, their #1, is the most inconsistent WR ever. Mostly gets you nothing, sometimes gets you a TD.

a team that always has inconsistent recievers with JJ Stokes? hahahaha that is a recipe for disaster right there

I'd stay away...unless you are in a ridiculously deep league (ie 184 teams)

Stokes does seem like a good fit in NE he is a consumate pro and knows how to play his postion but he's slow and has a hard time catching the ball. Maybe Brady will get him going. Though he's not a good pickup primarilily because brady spreads the ball around effeciently.
