So is Green Bay officially done now?

Postby doublej73 » Mon Nov 09, 2009 3:34 pm

4 and 4, with wins over a weak Chicago team and the very bad Rams, Browns and Lions. Add in a loss to the winless Bucs. They will not catch Minnesota so they are wildcard at best. Philly and Atlanta seem to have the edge in the wildcard race. Could be a long season of second guessing in Green Bay.

Thoughts?

same boat as the Bears...great QB, solid RB, but terrible offensive line and what's a defense. The wild card isn't coming out of the North and Minnesota is running away with the division...aye carumba.

Theres still alot of football left so I wouldnt put the "done" label on them just yet. Hell 4 weeks ago people were talking about the G-Men being the cream of the crop. Alot can change in a few weeks. That being said, Green Bay has its work cut out for them. Tey have little room for error now... I will admit that they were my preseason pick to win the NFC (and lose in the SB to Pitt.) Their Defense was great in exhibition and Ibought into Capers implementing the 3-4 and turning that unit around. Rodgers had the offense humming like no other as well.. They looked fantastic... They still have a shot at a WC spot but they better get hot quick...

As a packers fan, sad to say it but I don't see it happening this year. McCarthy can't game plan, nor adapt to problems his team is having. If I hear him say a variation of, 'its a problem we have to fix" about the penalties or o-line problems again I might vomit. He is in over his head.

That being said, I'm going to be glued to the Dallas game and hope this team comes together and turns it around next week. If they play well against Dallas and beat them, they can easily build off of that with games against the 49ers and Detroit. The Detroit game is a turkey day game, so a long recovery week heading into the Baltimore game on Monday Night Football gives them the help they would need to win that one (I think Baltimore is a far superior team at this point). Hey, they do that and it' s 8-4 going into a difficult final stretch where they can split the games with the Steelers, Bears, Cards and Seahawks. 10-6 might get in.

Is that likely though at this point??? I don't see that happening though with that O-line that can't block TAMPA BAY! EEEHHH :( As for fantasy though, Rodgers will remain solid the entire year I think despite the footsteps he must be hearing everytime he drops back.

I think they are a very 8-8 or 7-9 team..They have a absolutely horrible offensive line..Maybe the worst in the NFL..Rodgers gets no time to even think after the ball is snapped, and they don't even look towards Greg Jennings much anymore who USED TO BE their Home Run Hitter WR..He's now the Roy Williams of GB..I do not see them in the playoffs..I still cannot believe the Buc's beat them..There was talk of the Buc's rivaling the 08' Lions and going totally defeated at 0-16..

Agreed. It is early. One bad play and old man Favre could be done. We've seen what the Vikes do with no QB. The Pack has enough talent, just need Rodgers to stop trying too hard to be the next Brett and just play football. The D can play well enough and the division blows. The poor start has firmly placed the ball in Minny's court. Unless Favre turns back into a worn out gun slinger, its probably too late for the Pack.

If Green Bay doesn't figure out a way to shore up that O line Rogers might not make it through the season. :-o

Got Rodgers in 2 leagues. One is a best ball where my only backup is Pennington.

GB can still make the playoffs but they sure as hell better get headed in the right direction after they lose to the Cowboys.
