Would Chris Chambers be a worthwhile addition to my team dropping Todd Heap?
Should I consider picking up Ladell Betts? Who would you drop.... Braylon Edwards or Mike Wallace or keep my team as is?

Agreed that Betts has more value. We need to see your roster to know what your team needs are, though. After all, with the trade deadline looming close for most fantasy leagues, stacking "value" on your bench loses much of its strategic advantage. If you're really desperate for a WR, then you could take a chance on Chambers (not that I consider him a good bet, but he's probably the best you can get at this point from the wire).
My question:

My team is as follows:
QB Eli Manning
(QB Mark Sanchez)
WR Hines Ward
WR Mike Sims-Walker
(WR Braylon Edwards)
(WR Mike Wallace)
RB DeAngelo Williams
RB Ronnie Brown
RB Cedric Benson
(RB Steve Slaton)
TE Tony Gonzalez
(TE Todd Heap)
K Nick Folk
DEF Indy
DEF Broncos
( ) = usually on my bench
Give me your thoughts and impressions. My team is pretty deep at RB but weak at WR and QB. My record is 6-3 right now and I have the #2 playoff birth this far.
DEF switch for the best matchups of the week.

I'd leave your team as is. Portis is only out temporarily. You're not starting Betts over anyone you have at RB. So, why drop a bench player that starts for a bench player that only has value for another week or so? I'm not one for carrying two TEs, so you could drop Heap for Chambers. One week though doesn't make Chambers the Chambers we remember from Miami. Keep in mind, he's #2 to Bowe and he plays for the Chiefs. Would you rather have another backup WR at the cost of having a backup TE?

Sit tight. Chambers was a gamble 3 and 4 years ago when he started in Miami. Always hurt and never consistent. Portis will be back. I don't see you really adding any value or depth at this point.
