2 big trades....need help ASAP, deadline is here!!!

Postby bobdog3 » Wed Nov 18, 2009 9:08 am

I have been offered the following 2 trades in my 12 team, standard (non PPR) scoring league. We start 1 qb, 2 rb, 2 wr, 1 flex, 1 te, 1 k, 1 def. I am in first place in my division with 5-5 record. I would make playoffs as a 6th seed (last spot) as of today.

Offer 1: I give Garrard/Peterson, I get Warner/Fitzgerald

Offer 2: I give Rothliesberger/Peterson/C Taylor, I get Brees/Jacobs/Bradshaw

As you can see from my team, I like either Warner or Brees due to potential cold weather games for Rothliesberger coming up and the stinker he just threw out there. I also need a bit of WR help, which is why I like offer 1. Offer 2 has the obvious appeal of Brees. Or, do I just sit tight and hope for the best with my current squad?

Current team:
qb-Rothliesberger, Garrard
RB- Peterson, SJax, C Johnson, Taylor, Moats, J Lewis
WR- H Ward, Welker, Manningham
TE- Gates, F Davis
K- Crosby
def- Bengals, Miami

Thanks, WHIR

Tough call.

Warner and Brees are huge upgrades over Garrad. Probably worth 1 more TD/game.

Peterson has 11 TD's to Fitz's 8. My only concern with Fitz is the emergence of Benie, and Breaston. Will they take away touches from him?

And I don't know if I like the Jacobs/Brsdshaw deal. Starting either of those guys would be a huge downgrade from Peterson.

I think I would stick with what you have and not accept either of the trades.

How many RB's can you start? If you only start 2 and no flex, see if you can trade SJax and either Ward or Manningham for a #1 WR like Fitz or Wayne. Or you could try the same approach for a QB; Ben and SJax for Peyton, Breese, etc.

We can start 2 rb's, 2 wr's, and 1 flex.

I like your idea...thanks for the feedback. I might shop SJax now that he has come on as of late. Thanks!!

I think you are better off with Ben/AP/Sjax/CJ than you are with Warner/Sjax/CJ/Larry. I see the appeal of a QB upgrade, and a WR upgrade as well, but I think if you move AP, you are an injury away from being done at HB.

Your starting lineup if you make deal 1 is this:

QB-Warner
HB-Sjax/CJ
WR-Larry/Welker
Flex-Ward or Manningham

Manningham has tapered off significantly since Nicks has returned, so if you suffer an injury at any WR or HB spot you are left with 0 options at your flex.

Your lineup as is:
QB- Ben/ Garard
HB- AP/CJ
WR- Welker/Ward
flex-Sjax or Manningham

I think you can survive an injury at HB, and would suggest trying to package Garard and Manningham to get a more dependable WR down the stretch.
