Week 11 must win - any and all help please, WHIR

Postby BearsFan65 » Wed Nov 18, 2009 2:39 pm

12 team PPR league, tied for 1st, matched up with the guy I'm tied with. Have to win to keep first place. Starters in bold, matchups in (), any comments welcome, especially on the D/ST. WHIR!

QB - Schaub (TEN), Hasselbeck (@MIN)
RB - Rice (IND), Mendenhall (@KC), Wells (@STL)
WR - A Johnson (TEN), Megatron (CLE), VJax (@DEN), Sims-Walker(BUF)
TE - Gates (@DEN)
K - Akers (@CHI)
D/ST - Bengals (@OAK), Vikings (SEA)

I can see the Vikings getting a ton of pressure/sacks/picks on Hasselbeck, but the Bengals D is on fire right now and the Vikes were kind of a letdown against DET last week. Any thoughts on this play or any of the others? Thanks.

Thanks for the help with mine. I have to agree with all of your choices. The Bengals D is on fire right now and they should have another good showing this week.

I'd start Sims Walker over Vincent Jackson.

Trent, you want to explain that one to me? Buffalo is a top 5 pass D, and better receivers with better QB's (Andre Johnson, Randy Moss, Marques Colston) haven't had much luck with them. They can't stop the run and there's this guy named Maurice Jones-Drew playing for Jax, you might have heard of him? I don't see the Jags throwing all that much, so why is Sims-Walker a better play?

I'm ok with people disagreeing with me, that's what this is all about, but if you're going to put it out there, back it up with some logic. That said, thanks for the opinion. You'll understand if I don't take your advice...

Let me start off by saying I'm a dejected Buffalo Bills fan. But very happy today hearing that Mike Shanahan is meeting with Buffalo. I watch every Buffalo Bills game and I can tell you this our defense is extremely overrated. There is only one guy in the secondary, and that is our rookie Jairis Byrd... dude has 8 ints. Besides that, they are overrated. One of the reasons why we are rated so high on pass defense is we are down pts early and teams don't pass much. They play a bend don't break defense. Playing receivers 10 yards off the line.

My reasoning to start Sims Walker is I expect him to get about 80 yards and a TD. I feel the Denver secondary will shut down Vincent Jackson. Denver has a good defense and are angry they lost 3 straight. I don't see Vincent beating Champ for 7. They also added Ty Law and have Dawkins back there. There secondary played very well vs a pass happy steeler team. And stopped Randy Moss and Dallas earlier in yr. Regardless, you can't go wrong with either guy.

Thanks bro - I appreciate you coming back to explain. I'm gonna disagree on Denver shutting down VJax, but hopefully they'll both put up 100 and a score and we can laugh about it later. Good luck with yours this week!
