Sophies' Choice: Henne or Quinn (and/or Simms)? WHIR 100%

Postby bloc8888 » Wed Nov 18, 2009 8:24 pm

I have a two-part question and I'm dying here -- I need help: I'm in a 2QB league, so every available QB is snapped up immediately. We play with traditional scoring, (i.e. TD=4pt, 20 yards=1pt, INT=-2, Rushing 10yds=1pt, Rushing TD=6pts).

I currently have Orton, Henne and Quinn (and have a waiver request in at the moment to hopefully pick up Simms, should Orton not start).

Question 1: If Orton DOES start, who do I start as my #2? Quinn's offense is just god-awful, but this week he's playing against the worst pass defense in football. Henne is also terrible (though not as bad) but he's going up against a stronger Carolina.

Question 2: If Orton DOES NOT start, which two do I play, between Simms, Quinn and Henne?

Yes, I realize these are terrible options, but other than this my team is incredibly strong (MJD, T.Jones, Pierre Thomas, R.Moss, Housh, V.Davis). Who is my best bet?!?!

If Orton is healthy, you would have to give him the start. It's not like Chris Simms had a good game either (3 of 13 for 13 yards and an interception) but maybe he plays better with a week to prepare for Sunday. Still, I think I would go with Quinn at #2 simply because the Lions defense is sub-par, so you'd have to figure Quinn would get at least a TD. I would also go with Henne since he's likely to get more passin attempts with Ronnie Brown out of the lineup. If you feel like Simms performance against the Redskins was a fluke, go with him over Henne, although I would just take the wait and see approach.

Thanks with mine.

Im going to have to go with Simms and Quinn. I know Ronnie is out which means more passing for Henne, but CARs defense seems to be surging and Henne doesnt have anyone to throw to. Typically Miami loves to run the screen with ronnie and ricky, which gives Henne his yards, the absence of ronnie means more traditional offense in the form of running with Lex Hilliard and also an increase in trickery involving Pat White. Additionally, CAR shut down Matt Ryan last week. Quinn is going against DET and with last weeks debacle, I expect CLE to go for broke down field, which would pay dividends considering DET DEF is terrible.
