Ward/Austin/Smith? What do you think? WHIR!!

Postby rattlers » Fri Nov 20, 2009 8:39 am

I am in a pickle. Hines ward has not been FFB friendly as of late and I now have Kevin Smith who is going up against Clev so he should bounce back. Austin is going up against WAS which, if they watch the previous games, will see that Austin is very containable.

Here is my problem. I have the following roaster and I need to know who to start here. I would go with Smith over Ward, but Ward is going up against KC and they are wonderful to QB's and WR in FFB. I thought about Smith over Austin, but really can you bench Austin when just last week WAS gave up 134 yrds on five catches and two TD's to B. Marshall -- And Denver sucked hard in that game.

So what do you all think? Should I start Kevin Smith this week, and if so who's place should he take?

100% WHIR!!

Thanks again.

Thanks for your help...

To me it depends on your scoring system. If this is a non PPR league you gotta go with Smith no question. The Browns D is not terrible but their offense will put them behind and I see the Lions running quite a bit.

If this is a PPR league then I think you go with Hines. He gets tons of bubble screens and slot passes, and against the Chiefs he should get plenty of opportunities. Smith is still a solid option in a PPR, but I just think Hines is poised to bust out.

IMO, teams are starting to take notice of Austin. I know he had two really huge weeks, but in the last 3 games he has 10 catches. I don't think Austin is the player to start here.

Good luck!
Passing TDs = 4
All other TDs = 6
100 yd rushing bonus = 4

All other basic scoring

VERY strict rosters...MUST have:

2 QBs (start 1)
3 RBs (start 2)
4 WRs (start 2)
2 TEs (start 1)
2 D/STs (start 1)
2 Ks (start 1)

IMO, the mistake you are making is starting hightower over K. Smith.

I think K. Smith is a must start this week.

You make a good point about Austin, and the WAS issues stopping B. Marshall. But, I am a little skeptical of Austin at this point.

I would play Ward over Austin, K. Smith over Ward. Then, the decision is really between Hightower and Austin. If you can live with 20 yards, and need the upside, play Austin. If you need at least something positive on the board and don't need to risk the upside, then I would play Hightower.

Sorry, I know this is not exactly the question you asked. hope it helps.
