My McCoy/Hakeem Nicks for Ocho Cinco

Postby BALCO All-Stars » Fri Nov 20, 2009 11:42 am

12 team, $150 salary cap auction league, 2 keepers each year. Just lost Bowe, so I'm looking for another WR:

My McCoy and Nicks for Ocho Cinco?

I'd put MBIII into McCoy's spot...so basically this trade I'd be starting MBIII and Ocho vs McCoy and Walter...thoughts? Hell putting it that way almost makes it a no-brainer.

Current lineup:
QB: Schaub
RB: Ray Rice
RB: McCoy
WR: Marshall
WR: Jennings
WR: Walter
TE: Tony Gonzalez
DEF: Eagles
OP: Hasselback
K: Bironas
BN: MBIII, Charles, Vince Young, Bernard Scott, Heath Miller, Nicks

My only hesitation is the keeper aspect. Keeping a player adds $5 to their previous auction value. I got Rice at $6 this year, so he's a no brainer at $11. I got McCoy at $10, so he'll be $15 to keep, which is great value if Westy doesn't return.

Thanks for the help on mine. I don't player keepers, but I would do this trade and worry about next year later. But maybe that's why I don't play keeper leagues.
12 Team League. We start 2 QBs and get .5 PPR, otherwise standard scoring
QBs: Stafford, Fitzpatrick, Collins
RBs: Charles, Mendenhall, Best, Starks, Carter, Karim
WRs: D. Jackson, Marshall, S. Smith, Green,
TE: Hernandez, Cook

I think it all comes down to the keeper status. If you had to pick now who would you keep rice, mccoy, MBIII, or OCHOCINCO.
If you dont keep mccoy will you keep OCHO or MBIII and be happy with it.
I think rice and mccoy are the two best keeper options going forward.
If you make the trade you give up mcocy and get OCHO that help now but not in the future.
Overall i think i would stand pat.

The keeper debate is the big question. Rice is a lock at $6 ($11 for next season). After that, Charles was only $1 so if he's the starting RB for KC he's a no brainer. But it's the same logic for McCoy...if Westy is out McCoy is a no-brainer keeper, but if Westy comes back, then freezing McCoy for $15 is not good.

I'm pulling the trigger. I'm only giving up a possible keeper to greatly improve my team this year. I'm 6-4 and have a great shot at making the playoffs, especially if I make this trade. Thx guys.
