DEF - Which to hold which to add? WHIR.

Postby pizzaboy76 » Sun Nov 22, 2009 8:12 am

I'm in a competitive 12 team league, with fairly deep benches. I want to look ahead through week 16 and see which DEF to hold or pick up. Here are my options and their opponents. Can you rank these for the rest of the year? Playoffs are weeks 14-16.

DEN - SD, NYG, @KC, @IND, OAK, @PHI
BUF - @JAX, MIA, NYJ, @KC, NE, @ATL
NYJ - @NE, CAR, @BUF, @TB, ATL, @IND
TEN - @HOU, AZ, @IND, STL,MIA,SD
SF - @GB, JAX, @SEA, AZ, @PHI, DET

Best Matchups?
Week 11 - BUF (@JAX) or DEN (SD)
Week 12 - ???
Week 13 - DEN (KC) or NYJ (@BUF), or SF (@SEA)
Week 14 - BUF (@KC) or TEN (STL)
Week 15 - DEN (OAK)
Week 16 - SF (DET)

I was thinking of keeping Denver. I have Buffalo, do I drop them for the Jets or Ten? Do I drop a low end position player and add SF for the week 16 matchup? In reality I could carry 3-4 Def. Any thoughts appreciated and WHIR.

Thanks for the help on my post.

If you already have Denver, I'd stick with them based on the playoff matchups. I just made the same "playoff matchup" choice on defense and they were #2 in my opinion, second only to Arizona.

Good luck.

Thanks for responding to my post.

I would rank them as following:

DEN > SF > BUF > TEN > NYJ

Week 11: BUF
12: SF
13: DEN
14: BUF
15: DEN
16: SF

I would keep Denver and look for a nice option for week 16 on the ww. drop a player if you have to to get that key week 17 D. Bad teams still make for good DEF plays against other bad teams.
