Any reason to start Jacobs EVER again?

Postby nothingfather » Thu Dec 03, 2009 12:48 am

I'd love to hear from some NY fans who have the displeasure of watching this guy week after week to shed some light on how its gotten this bad. I'm pretty sick of waiting for that break-out game while its only gotten worse. And now in week 13, with Bradshaw and Ware seemingly down - its all on him. So is anyone seriously counting on him?

The only reason he is a consideration for me is because of injuries - my only options are Britt @ IND, Nicks vs these same Cowboys and Smelling vs PHI. I am seriously thinking of going with Britt over this bum. Would you agree that Britt is my best-bet? I have a playoff spot locked, but am playing for the division win (cash) AND a possible bye week (HUGE)! WHIR!

you've already made the playoffs, you're playing with house money, right? might as well go for the gusto. jacobs didn't get you here.

britt has tremendous upside and if CJ gets rolling on the ground, it will open things up against a solid colts secondary. i'd play him.

snelling is sharing w/ norwood in a tough matchup, and nicks is lower in the pecking order than britt.

good luck.

kenny britt is involved in one of my dilemmas, check it out if you get a chance:

I would love some cash - but the bye week is so big, last year I missed it by the 3rd tie breaker and got booted in the first round of the playoffs! Not gonna happen this time

I have torn feelings on Jacobs... I also keep waiting for that huge breakout game that never happens, but it's not soley his fault. I can't really call him a bum. I have to choose between Jacobs (home) v. DAL or K. Smith @ CIN in .5ppr. And I think I'm rolling w/ Jacobs b/c he's the only guy standing at NYG right now w/ the injuries to Bradshaw (dropped him) and Ware. What really sucks is that I traded R. Rice for Jacobs earlier in the year thinking it was a great trade. Good thing I traded to get Rice back. Oh nevermind, that was another bad decision. I traded CJ4.24 to get Rice back. Dumbest moves I've made all year, but I'm still in 1st.

Enough blabbing though, I'm starting Brandon simply b/c I have no better options this week. I just hope they give him 20 carries and I'm good to go.

I traded for him early as well, losing Addia for jacobs and Bowe (DOH!) I know jacobs was a down-grade even at the time, but I thought they were relatively the same back.

And BUM is a strong word, but the guy cant hit the hole, cant stay healthy and hasnt done much. several 20+ carry games and cant break 100, that is certainly in the ballpark of bum-ville.

And being a TEN fan, would you start Britt over Jacobs?

A little bump on the fact that it looks like Bradshaw may play cutting into Jacobs carries. Also, any more love for Britt this week?

I feel your pain with Jacobs. He has screwed me in one of my leagues and is on my bench this week. I would go with Britt.

Please help me:

Listen, he got the majority of the carries last week...and was finger tackled by the Bronco's...I can't believe its week 13 & the guy is still considered???...I would start anyone over him this week...is Rock Cartwright avail??...and yes, K Jones gets the nod over Jacobs...his contract year was last year...he took this year off.

I'm in the same boat as well with a playoff spot on the line.

I have to choose between Jacobs and C. Williams.

Last week, to me it looked like the Denver D was just blowing up the Giants O line leaving nothing for Jacobs. This is applified because he is a slow starter hitting the hole. If the O line can blow open some holes, he can do some damage..I think :-?

I may roll with Jacobs simply because he will get the majority of touches. I'll be watching Caddy's status, as he has a better matchup, but a 3 way split.
