Barely squeaked in, and now need help picking 2 of the 4 listed RB's:
Maroney vs Carolina Moreno vs Indy K. Smith vs Baltimore Lynch vs K.C.
I'm leaning towards Maroney and Lynch, but Moreno has been hot. Smith is hot and cold, usually cold.
QB - Dree Brees, Sam Bradford RB - Knowshon Moreno, Addai, Beanie Wells, Brandon Jackson WR - Randy Moss, Brandon Lloyd, Pierre Garcon, Kevin Walter, Lance Moore TE - John Carlson K - Jeff Reed D/ST - New England, San Diego
Maroney and the patriots will have a lot to play for next week following their marginal loss this week. Speculation is swirling about their ability to be contenders this season. That being said and the fact that Carolina is ranked 26th in the league against the rush you kind of have to lean toward Maroney, at least as the #2 guy. Lynch is too inconsistent and K. Smith against Baltimore is risky...Baltimore is ranked 5th in the league against the rush and the Lions have a tendency to play form behind. With that in my mind my second choice would be Moreno, the donkeys will be playing with fire as they try to catch up to the chargers and the No. 17 ranked indy defense should give up a few big plays.
I would go with Maroney based on the matchup. It seems NE will stick with Maroney even with a healthy Sammy Morris back. Honestly I don't really like any of your other three options all that much.
Since this is playoffs, I wanna offer a different opinion for you. What (if any) RB's are on the WW right now? Reason I ask is Kevin Smith faces Ravens, Cards and 49ers. I don't like him to do much of anything in any of those games. I would offer a suggestion of possibly Rock Cartwright, Jamaal Charles (if available), Chris Brown (if available). What else do you see on your leages wire?
Moreno would be good vs OAK in week 15 and Lynch might do something week 16, but Smith right now to me is expendable considering his schedule.
I think Knowshon is tiptoeing toward must-start status: 80+ yards and 3 TDs in the last three weeks. I definitely don't like Smith with that matchup, and don't you dare get snookered by Lynch just because he had a few decent runs last week after crapping on the rest of the season. I don't trust Maroney much, either, but given the matchup I think you have to roll with him and hope he at least goes back to scoring TDs.
Trust me, I have no faith in Lynch, but he's playing against KC (27th against the rush and one of the highest TD's given up). That's the only reason I'm considering it. Moreno against Indy scares me a bit, but I really hate benching him since it seems he's on a hot streak.
I'm the 7 seed. Our league is so tight, it's anyone's game. I'm actually 3rd (1 point behind 2nd) in total points scored, so anyone can win any given week. I screw up which RB's to play almost weekly.
My receivers are really strong, but I just couldn't swing the right trade for a RB. All the RB's mentioned for WW pickups have been gone for weeks now.
QB - Dree Brees, Sam Bradford RB - Knowshon Moreno, Addai, Beanie Wells, Brandon Jackson WR - Randy Moss, Brandon Lloyd, Pierre Garcon, Kevin Walter, Lance Moore TE - John Carlson K - Jeff Reed D/ST - New England, San Diego
Well Rock, I have a feeling Denver will be slaughtered and I think you would be better to go with Lynch this week. I just don't see Moreno getting anything against the Colts.
I know what you're saying swat. Thanks for the help.
Here's something else to consider, hot off the Yahoo! updates: RB Kevin Smith averaged 4.7 yards per carry against the Bengals, with 75 yards on 16 carries. He gained a lot of tough yards inside, though he still struggled to break away in the open field, and Schwartz called it his best rushing day of the season. Schwartz wants to get Smith more carries. And Cincy is #2 rushing Defense, behind only the 'Burgh.
