Holding calls downfield are from the spot of the foul. So if a RB goes 40 yards but 20 yards downfield there's a hold he'll be credited for a 20 yard run and then a 10 yard holding penalty.

I think it is called from the spot of the foul. The hold was 20 yards down field so they gave them the yards until the spot of the fout AZ 40 then tacked on 10 yds to put them at the 50.

I need Smith to throw the ball. But the only way he does that now is if Arizona makes it close. And I have SF's D too. Arrrggghhh...

True. Even as poopie as the Cards O has played, they are still have a ton of quick strike capabilities. Niners keeping the ball is the answer.
