Flex Baby Flex Baby 1-2-3-4...WHIR!!!

Postby Chuckles » Thu Dec 17, 2009 10:47 am

Okay, first week of playoffs, DO-OR-DIE for our league!!! I'm pretty much set except at flex. Currently I have Calvin Johnson going at the flex, but have some other options:

Calvin Johnson, Det. vs. Arizona-current flex starter
Bowe, KC vs. Cleveland
LT, SD vs. Cincy
Forsett, Sea. vs. TB
Ganther, Was. vs. NYG
Arian Foster, Hou. at St. Louis
Roy Williams, Dal. at NO

Obviously if Megatron doesn't have Stafford throwing to him he's not as strong...stay with him or go to another option? Thanks all & leave a link!!! ;-D

A lot of options can be hurtful too and this is what you have. If its a PPR I'd probably go with Forsett. Calvin is a good receiver but Culpepper just SUCKS! Stafford is not going to play. Last year Calvin and Culpepper connected very often so Id probably go with him and pray to the fantasy gods that he has a decent game.

Help with mine?

I like both Gather and Bowe over Calvin. Don't like him without Stafford at all. K. Smith is out and the Cards will double team him every play. Gather played well last week and has a good matchup but to me Bowe has a greta game. He has had 4 weeks off, but has practiced so won't be rusty, Charles will keep the bad Browns D honest and Chambers puts a good WR on the other side. I go either of them over CJ!

Hmm, that's tough. I think people are overreacting to last week's game -- Calvin won't be that bad two weeks in a row. Still, he is boom or bust. If you're the underdog, you might just want to roll the dice. If you want to be safe, probably Ganther (boy does that sound crazy!)

Thanks for helping me out. I would play LT, he has scored almost everytime past few weeks. SD has a great offense and will handover the ball to LT in the Red Zone 4-5 times.

Yah, that does sound crazy!!!

I'm still up in the air...

2 votes for Ganther, 1 for LT, Bowe and Forsett. But what about Foster? He's suppposed to be the main guy in Texas...of course Texas never does as advertised...thanks all & keep it coming...

I will go with Arian Foster. Going against a porous defense. They will be up by a good bit and the word is they want to use Foster a good bit this week. If you need the potential for a big game Foster may give you that shot.

I own Calvin in another league, I did not make the playoffs with that team but here is the way I calculated on whether or not to start Calvin.

If I thought Detroit would have to throw the entire game, I started him. If I thought it might be a game that ends up 20-17 or such, I sat him, it seemed to work out.

Detroit will have to throw a ton v.s. ARZ , you know that. With the RB situation, that only compounds things. Do not worry about last week much.

I think the upside with Ganther/Foster are about 15 pts, I think 15 is a given for Calvin in a PPR.

BTW, if you are in a standard league, I would go Ganther.

Start Calvin with confidence!

If you get time, I need some upside

Go LT. he is your best bet at yardage and TD. he still has enough in the tank to get you to the SB.
