Need help with #2 RB: DeAngelo Williams or Beanie Wells?

20 yards = 1 point
TD = 6
No PPR

Deangelo Williams vs. Minnesota
Beanie Wells @ Detroit

I had Deangelo starting, but I'm not sure I like him this week over Beanie.

Minnesota is giving up just 3.9 yards per carry, 92.6 total yards per game and zero scores to RBs since Week 9.

Last week Beanie had 79 yards on 15 carries (5.3 ypc). Detroit has actually performed respectably against soft run-blocking offenses (i.e. Green Bay) but as Ray Rice proved a week ago, this is still an exploitable unit. Over the past five weeks the Lions have allowed 4.7 yards per carry, 189.4 total yards per game and six scores to RBs. But because of Detroit's issues defending the pass, Kurt Warner will likely go ballistic.

What do you think?

Post your thread and I'll help in return

I feel like I've NEVER seen this many similar situations to my own before. It's ridiculous.

I actually move passed this issue though and am now debating Wells or Arian Foster? Why?

1. Jordan Gross LT is out for the year
2. Otah, RT, is out for the year.
3. The Minnesota run defense is beastly
4. Stewart is healthy and will take away touches
5. BWells looked great last week and has an easy matchup.
6. BWells caught a pass (my league is PPR) :-)

I'm benching DeAngelo and actually debating dropping him (I kid you not) for a backup TE 1 minute before the 1 oclock games and waivers close in our league (teams in other semi have strong RB's, Williams matchup vs. Giants stinks AND I have Dallas Clark who might sit next week)

Vote for Beanie in this situation. Warner should dominate quick, then they will bring in Leinart and run out of the clock.

Beanie

I think you have to play Beanie here - Detroit is awful, Minnesota not so much.

I'm struggling with the same problem here as well.
Last year, I rode DeAngelo to a league win, coming behind to win the championship game with a 4 TD performance in week 16 giving me a come from behind win in a Sunday night game...

But DWill's match up VS MIN is making me really nervous... I have SJax and J Charles as my 2 RBs, and DeAngelo as my Flex play right now, but I also have Beanie & Ganther on my bench, and I'll see-saw on this decision until Sunday...

I did watch Ray Rice tear it up for over 200 yards from scrimmage on Detroit's D last week, so Beanie might be a better gamble than DWill.
QB- Ryan Luck
RB- Rice, McGahee, F Jax, M Leshoure, D Martin, Bilal, B Pierce
WR- J Nelson, E Decker, D Amendola, B LaFell
TE- J Graham
K- Gould
DEF- Seahawks

Damn, with your situation I'd even be tempted to sit both Deangelo and Steven Jackson. :-S

Another vote for Beanie. That's just too plus of a match-up not to take advantage of.

Help on mine? posting.php?mode=post&f=19
