The guy I am playing got 53.5 points combined out of Clark and MJD last night. He is the #1 guy out of the regular season and for good reason. He still has Favre, Gore, Moss and Austin yet to play. As you can see, I need to maximize my points, even with the 22.7 I got out of Wayne last night, so:
Marshall:
No way he matches last weeks output. I don't think DEN will need to throw a lot as I can see them get up early and run it down OAKs door run D. There is also the fact that Marshall will have an Asomugha stuck on his @$$ all day.
I think he is the safer play but also has a greater chance of moderate numbers (10 points).
Meacham:
Home run potential. I don't think the DAL D has enough to cover everyone. Brees should have time to throw. I think DAL will struggle a little to pressure him with Ware injured. I think this game could be a shoot out.
Do I stick with the low risk/low reward potential of Marshall or do I roll the dice for a shot at Championship week with the high risk/high reward Meacham?
Any thoughts?
6 pts for any TD, 1 pt = 20 pass yrds, 1 pt = 10 yrds run/rec., .5 pts/rec.
I would roll the dice because you NEED those points either u win by a little or lose by alot so u gotta go meachem cause Marshall just aint gonna cut it for yah

Since you're down by so many points you need to go with the person with the highest ceiling unless the rest of his team is garbage. Meachem probably has a slightly higher ceiling due to that game likely being a shootout. Unless for some reason Denver struggles on the ground and/or Oakland manages to put up points, but that's probably unlikely.
Are you seriously considering sitting Marshall bc he had a record breaking performance last week?> Did you know that Marshall has just as much homerun potential as Meachem (see game vs Redskins where he had BOTH a 70yd & a 40yd TD in ther 1stH before Orton got knocked out of the game) and that Meachem has to compete with about 5-6 other guys for targets? Brees simply does not play favorites, he throws to whom EVER is open. To wit, Shockey is healthy again and will be in the lineup over Campbell as another red-zone threat.
What ever happened to playing the "hot-hand" as it were? Frankly I am expecting HALF of last week's production out of Marshall (100yds/1TD) at a minimum, and that is 17 points in even the most basic of scoring systems. Listen, Orton is obviously keying on BMarsh more than ever right now, and just bc OAK has a good corner in Asomugha I won't hesitate to start him bc he is STILL denver's main red-zone target at WR (as evidenced by Marshall's many red-zone TDs/looks so far this season; 2 5yd TDs last week alone).
Don't over-think this.
Start Marshall. But just temper your expectations, that's all.

Just to be clear, Shockey is not healthy at all and has been ruled out of this game.
