Looking for the SWEEP - WHIR

Postby BearsFan65 » Tue Dec 22, 2009 10:42 am

Won the regular season title, but barely (point differential +25). Trying to become the first ever in our league (7th year)to win the season and the playoffs as well. PPR league, all other scoring standard. Will take any and all opinions (please add why) on the following:

WR3 (pick 1) - Megatron (@SF), MSW (@NE), Britt (v SD)
RB (pick 2) - Rice (@PIT), Mendenhall (v BAL), Wells (v STL)

Can also put in a claim for Jerome Harrison, but doubtful I'd get him.

WR's - Right now I'm thinking MSW by default. It sucks, but I can't trust Calvin without Stafford throwing to him, and the matchup is the worst of the group. SD not a great run defense, so I expect the Titans to go with CJ early and often. NE actually not a bad matchup for MSW, but can Garrard play decently on the road while the Pats key on MJD?

RB's - This was really clear to me till this past week. I picked up Wells several weeks ago and stashed him for the matchups with DET and STL in weeks 15-16. Then Mendy gets third down back duties as of last week and catches 7 balls for 73 yards to go with his rushing TD. Remember, PPR scoring. Wells had a nice game against DET, and I love his matchup with STL, but it's suddenly a much closer call than I thought it would be. Rice is still unbenchable in my mind.

WHIR, thanks, and good luck to everyone still alive!

RB's Mendy and Rice. Mendy did well against the ravens in their last meeting and the kid ishowt fiya. Rice is , well, Rice sit him at your own peril.

WR's Britt because the other 2 have not been getting it done. MSW has a terrible record on away games. Megatron has serious QB issues and every week they should be passing to catch up ect ect but it just hasnt panned out...

These seem like fairly easy picks as far as I'm concerned. Calvin is banged up, while New England is mediocre against the pass, therefore I would start MSW. I Wells has an awesome matchup and is getting majority of carries lately, he will go off this week, so he gats a start. Rice and Mendenhall have tough matchups, so the edge goes to the more explosive, all around better running back, and that is Rice.
