I hear what you are saying, but the decision makers for the Colts don't care about history in the regular season at all. They will bench people, it's a matter of if, not when. My big fear is if Manning gets off to a good start, he gets pulled earlier.
So either Manning plays poorly and stays in (still not good fantasy points) or he has a great start and sits in the 1st half with maybe 150 yards and 2 TD's. I am fairly confident Smith atleast matches that.
There isn't a single media source in Indy that thinks Peyton will play past the 1st possession in the 2nd half. That is a big risk too me when I have a good 2nd option.
The Colts signed QB Drew Willy off their practice squad Saturday, a sign that Peyton Manning will likely rest Sunday.
If you haven't been convinced to bench your Colts yet, this should be the final straw. Willy will start the game as the No. 3 QB but will become Curtis Painter's backup if/when Manning takes a seat.
I also have Manning on my squad. Right now I have him on the bench and am starting McNabb for now.
Though I've been switching back and forth all week.
This is a very tough decision - I think Manning will only play until half whether they're up or down he's gonna sit the 2nd half. So he has 2 quarters to keep them undefeated I think.
Though I think a half with Manning would be better than a whole game with Smith.
