QB and DEF help for championship WHIR

Postby lancep » Sat Dec 26, 2009 2:55 pm

Made it to championship with a mediocore QB a def all year, but i'm playing from behind already since the guy i'm playing has Rivers. Need to pick one QB and DEF

QB:
Orton @ PHI
Henne @ Hou
Hasselbeck @ GB

Def:
MIA @ HOU
Cleveland @ OAK

Wow, you must be stacked at other positions to make it to the finals with those QBs. :)

I'd go Henne and Cleveland.

I think Houston is going to put up some points so Henne will have to throw and the Miami D will not hold Schaub back. I would stay away from Hasselbeck. That team is going to struggle against GB.

I disagree.

I go with Hasselback and the Miami defense

Hasselback when kept upright has put up solid numbers this season. He is as healthy as he's going to get, abd the Seahawks will have to throw because they will be behind.

I'd roll with the Miami D because under no circumstances do you play the Cleveland defense. That game will be a shootout anyway.

I agree with everyone saying Henne.

Those defense match-ups are horrid, can you find anything better on a waiver wire? Also how do your defensive teams get points? If points against don't matter go with Miami, they are likely to get more turnovers, but Houston will score more than Oakland.

Hasselbeck is your best bet and any D against Oak.

I go Cassel here, IMO he has the best chance to produce... and he WR copr. is finally at full strength. and Browns by far...

Hasselbeck is a definite no-go because of his matchup and his play of late, so he's off the board. Between Henne and Orton, I'd lean slightly toward Orton even though Henne has a better matchup. He's simply a better QB, and when you're in the championship you need to play the guys that have +EV rather than the guys who could have a good game.

At DEF, I think you have to go Cleveland. Schuab and Johnson have been lighting teams up left and right for Houston, so I don't think I could play the Dolphins with confidence if I were in your shoes. Cleveland isn't the most talented bunch, but they're facing a team that, well, isn't the most talented bunch either. If you get special teams points, this decision becomes trivial--you're definitely starting the Browns because of Cribbs.

I like Orton. Better overall QB than the other two.

Cleveland Defense if you get points for return yards and return TDs, thanks to Cribbs.
