Help me pick my starters please. WHIR!

Postby FantasySportsMaven » Fri Jan 01, 2010 8:22 pm

As usual with week 17 championship games, it usually is the team who has the backs and WRs on losing NFL teams who win the game. Unfortunately, most of my starters are on NFL playoff teams and probably won't play alot on Sunday... so I need help in picking my fantasy starters.

This is a PPR dynasty league with huge team rosters and huge starting rosters too. Our defense scoring makes Defenses the top scoring starters in the league(Eagles top scorer in league). QBs are next in scoring with Rodgers as top QB but 23rd in scoring.
I usually start 4 RBs and 3 WRs every week. I picked up Aromashoda a week ago and just added Harline and now Gaffney(with marshall benched).

Here are my options with my gut starters in bold;
QB(1): Brady, Rodgers, Flacco, A. Smith
RB(2): Grant, Charles, Forsett, Moats, McCoy, LJ, R. Williams, C. Jennings
WR(3): AJ, Colston, VJackson, Aromadhodu, Gaffney, Walter, Hartline, Camarillo
RB/WR(2): Probably 2 more RBs? but which ones?
TE: Gates, Celek, F. Davis, Heap
K: Hartley or Tynes or Cundiff
Def: Ravens or Eagles
IDPs(7) but don't need help with them.

In a PPR Walter is probably one of the best options you can use for flex. He is always targeted and will be a dido of Welker in Sunday's game. I would use the other flex for McCoy, even though Westbrook and Weaver will get touches. He has the greatest upside but if Ricky definately plays I would go that route instead. Everything else looks in place to me and what I would do.

Thanks for your help.
I would have thought that too... but Walter this year isn't having a season like 2008. He is currently the 64th rated WR and averages about half what someone like Colston scores.

I keep waiting for the Cincy coach to say he is resting Benson... and then bam, LJ is the man. :-D

I would probably go LJ (I believe benson will be rested) and Mccoy.

I would start Brady over Smith since I think he is going to play alot.

I would start Charles, Forsett, Grant, and Ricky

I would go with Aromashoda, Gaffney, and AJ.

Stay with Celek.

I would go Ravens D

I see Grant having more upside than Mccoy, even with limited play time.

Go with Ricky Williams if he can play, if not go with LJ.

The rest of your line up looks good, but I dropped Hartley from my team this week due to his inconsistency lately. Its not like Coach Payton seemed to trust him much before the misses (going for it on 4th rather than kicking a 30 yd + FG.)

But the Saints to have a high scoring offense and they play in a dome (are they home this week?) so he should get his shot at redemption as far as making his kicks count.

Aromadhodu scares me now that hester will be starting..I'd go w/walter instead
for RBs I'd go w/LJ and williams (if he doesn't start)...grant...it looks like he's the only other one w/a good chance at starting and playing a decent amount of touches.

GL!
