Looking forward (RB contracts)

Postby maestro1313 » Wed Jan 06, 2010 12:28 pm

I need to make some early decisions for next season...

Pretty standard ppr league with 6 pts for running/catching TD's...

Here is my starters with (contract years)

QB - Brees (1) / Warner (1)
RB - Gore (1)
RB - Steward (2)
WR- Marshall (2)
WR- Steve Smith (3) Car
WR- Colston (0)
TE- Celek (1) or Cooley (2)
R/W/T - Rice (1) or McFadden (2)

We place a franchise tag and 1 transition tag...
Will Franchise Colston....
Who do I transition?
Caddie Williams or M. Lynch? (I have both F. Jackson (1) & D. Ward (3)
I also have M. Bush (0) but something would have to change drastically to keep him.
Thoughts are appreciated...

Not sure who you can franchise, but out of those I think you can. Freddie Jackson. I think finally me and the team are convinced in him.

I may have mislead....
I've already got Fred Jackson & Ward for at least next year...

My pick is between:
Colston/Lynch/Caddie/M. Bush

I will franchise one... giving a 4 year contract. (Thinking Colston)

And transition one - That gives me the right to match cost at auction and can give between a 1 & 4 year contract...
(Either Caddie or Lynch is my thought.)

Yeah. Colston. Can you drop Ward and get anything in return?

I can drop Ward but don't get anything back...

so basically I'll get Colston for 4 years... (Nice WR with Marshall/Rice & Smith)

Then I just have to decide:
Caddie/Lynch or M. Bush...

Have the summer to really decide on this, but want a heads up to try and sell who I don't want and get something back.

Obviously if Lynch or Bush gets moved to a top location... all bets are off..

Keep your eye on Bush or if Lynch gets trades to a needy team. But otherwise, colston. Good Luck.

Oh... new info!!

Just found out that I have the #1 overall draft pick!! YEA ME!!!

We have a lotto draw for top 4 spots...

I had traded for a 1st rounder last year (gave up rights to Stafford and something else...)
Well, it paid off... have #1... thanks random draw!!!

Colston and Caddy. However if Lynch remains in Buffalo, I might just keep him and have that situation handcuffed.
