Peterson Trade

Postby Ripcord » Fri Jan 08, 2010 12:52 pm

Ok I'm in a 12 team keeper league. We keep 3 players each.

My keepers right now are Schaub, Peterson and S.Jackson

I was offered 2 first round draft picks, Deangelo Williams and Desean Jackson for Peterson

I think if I did this trade I would Keep Deangelo,Desean and Steven Jackson. With the 2 Firsts I could pick up Schaub and another WR/RB.

Should I do this trade or is the drop off from Peterson to Deangelo too much?

Also I don't have a first round draft pick.

I've never considered one player untouchable.

This owner just seems to have a man crush on AD. Two first round draft picks and two top tier talents is a lot to give up for anyone. Granted it's possible this improves his keepers it'd be unlikely to improve his team next year.

Sure it's tough to give up a talent like Peterson in a keeper league, but you're coming out well here. The droppoff from Peterson to DeAngelo really isn't that great...DeAngelo is a remarkable talent as well. Moving from Schaub to D. Jackson improves your third keeper pretty substantially IMO (at least enough to offset the loss from AD to Williams).

I'd seriously consider this deal without the draft picks. Including them would make it easy for me to pull the trigger.

If you are going for the win next year, go for it, but this will hurt your keepers in the long run. Also, do you have any other keepers besides Schaub? He's certainly not in the top 36 for next year.

Looks like the trade would improve your team a lot at least for this year. I would make the move, looks like it would put you in position for a very good team

I'm kind of liking this deal also, especially if you know you can pick up Schaub. Sure, DWill will continue to have a Stewart problem. But when he's healthy enough to play, it hasn't been that big of an issue.

I'd also do it.

This isn't a "kind of" liking deal. This deal is a STEAL. GO GO GO!

Deangelo, Desean and Steven Jackson are three GREAT keepers.
