Santonio Holmes (NYJ)

Wow whats up with Pitt's players and offseason issues?

Citing "multiple sources," Profootballtalk.com reports that Santonio Holmes is facing a four-game suspension under the NFL's Substance Abuse Policy.

The expected ban is not related to the recent assault accusation brought against Holmes by a woman stemming from a nightclub incident. Instead, it appears Holmes tested positive for a banned substance, or missed a drug test. As PFT's Mike Florio notes, Holmes has a history with marijuana. He was arrested in 2008 for possession -- prompting a one-game suspension levied by the Steelers -- and has recently spoken of "wake and baking" on his Twitter account. "Wake and baking" is slang for getting high in the morning.

-Rotoworld.com

Twitter has busted Holmes chopps multiple times this offseason. Frankly I don't think big sports stars should be able to twitter, or have a 24 probation period per post to 'think about what they may say' lol ;-D

Just to update this thread, Holmes is now a NYJ and he has a 4 game suspension to start the season. The Steelers fans I've talked to seem to think that Wallace will fill in more than adequately. I'd like to see that.

He'll be back soon. How much contact with the team has he had during his ban? Is he banned from the practice facilities and meetings? Has he studied the playbook? Can he see film? Obviously this all affects how soon he can perform well.

I read S.Holmes has been practicing, and should be ready to go, full strength, Monday Night.. Can't remember where I read that information, but I just snagged Holmes off my waiver wire.. Sure hope he can be as good with Sanchez as he was with Roth.. :-o
