Percy Harvin

Figured I would post this here, as I thought I may get more of a response then in the I&P Updates forum.

What is everyone's thoughts on Harvin and his continued migraines into the offseason? I know they are very unpredictable, but he tried to play through them last year and at times couldn't and others looked like it may effect him more then he will admit on the field. I know hes tough as hell and has done a ton of work on his skills and body this offseason, but it can't just be an after thought can it? Thoughts?

Percy Harvin is still dealing with "off and on" migraine headaches this offseason.

Harvin's migraines are unpredictable, but they won't keep him from going off the board as a high-upside WR3 this year. Beat writer Chip Scoggins also said Harvin looks "huge," adding 10 pounds of muscle. Harvin was on the receiving end of quite a few vicious hits last season, proving to be one of the toughest receivers in the league.

Well the fact that he has migraines into the offseason isn't necessarily a bad sign as one might think, often times they can be triggered in athletes when they exercise extremely hard (off season work outs). He is getting treatment/care (not exactly sure what he is getting but he has seen specialist and I'm sure he is in regular contact with them) so I'm sure that should help a little at least.

Terrell Davis also suffered through Migraines, so we shouldn't shy away from Harvin too much he is very capable of being successful despite them. He was OROY and made the Probowl (Return Man) as a rookie with on going migraine issues going on. And with the word that apparently Childress wants to use him more in the backfield means Childress isn't shying away from dangerous situations such as running the ball I think is a nod of reassuring confidence.

Don't mistake me for downplaying migraines, they are a tough thing to deal with but I'm optimistic for Harvin as a football player despite the migraine issues.

He started out well last year, but tailed off badly- 4 games straight of 5 points or less in PPR. One was a DNP due to the migraines. 9 of the 17 games last year were 5 points or less. I think Rotoworld's WR3 estimate is about right. You just need to make certain you have enough depth.

I'm thinking he's not having enouh sex. Sex releases endorphins that relieve headaches, so that might work with migraines (those of you with wives with "headaches," should hold onto this fun fact).

Anyway, If we can still get him in an AUG redraft as a WR3 and not a have to overdraft him, then I would take that risk.

That explains why every time Elin told Tiger Turd she had a headache he went out a-whoring. :-b

I love Percy Harvin (Not in the headache relieving way 8-o ) and I don't worry as much about him tailing off in the second half. Most rooks hit the wall in the second half. But the emergence of Rice and the unceertainty at QB curbs my enthusiasm. I would love to have him as a #3, his game breaking explosiveness would be awesome for a #3.

Have him in a dynasty and am very worried. The guy is a flat out game breaker though. I just don't like the headache he brings. No pun intended.
