Offical: Gin to San Fran

With Brandon Marshall in Miami, one of the current wideouts on the team was no longer needed.

Enter Ted Ginn. Or, actually, exit.

Jay Glazer of FOX reports that Ginn has been traded to the 49ers for a 2010 late-round draft pick. It's a fairly dramatic plunge for a guy who was the ninth overall pick in the 2007 draft.

Great deal for both. San Fran needed special teams help, and Dolphins needed anything in exchange for Ginn once Marshall showed up because it was obvious they were done with Ginn.

The ninth overall pick in 2007 for a late round(I've heard a 5th) in 2010. I'm not at all surprised it turned out this way.

But he came from a good family.

In all honesty, Ginn needed a change of scenery. He can stretch the field, but had one of the worst catch rates behind only James Jones, GB. Ginn is not a WR1, but I think he will flourish in to a dynamic special teams weapon on KR and PR, and also a situational deep threat at WR3 with Crabtree and Vernon commanding double coverage, and Morgan keeping an LB honest on the slant.
