The former #9 overall pick gets traded for a 5th rounder. 8-o

Mike Singletary called Ted Ginn Jr. on Friday to personally welcome the wide receiver to the San Francisco 49ers.

The fastest draft bust in Miami Dolphins history is bound for the Bay Area, giving Ginn a well-timed fresh start across the country and filling one of the 49ers' biggest offseason needs in the process.

"We added a talented player that fit a need," said Singletary, the 49ers' coach. "He's a bundle of potential, and his upside is off the charts. This guy can fly."

This is a great pickup for the niners. They really needed a punt and kick returner. Along with that they get a guy who can possibly break loose for a long one if the D focuses on Gore and Crabtree. I don't think you can really count last year to gauge his potential due to wildcat. The team did everything but throw. Ginn is a better fit in SF in my opinion and cheaply fits a need. Given his 3rd year was in the Wildcat I feel he could possibly break out soon. Good gamble for SF.
