Patriots agreed to terms with WR Torry Holt, formerly of the Jaguars, on a one-year, $1.7 million contract.
The Patriots have a habit of signing veterans looking for a last chance at ring, so it's not surprising that the 34-year-old Holt would land in New England. It's not a great fit, though. Julian Edelman can hold down the slot until Wes Welker returns, and the Pats need a playmaker opposite Randy Moss. The signing shouldn't preclude them from adding a receiver with an early-round pick. In fantasy terms, we prefer Edelman to the declining Holt as a potential WR3 this year.
