Dynasty 12-man, 1 ppr. Standard scoring and we start qb-rb-rb-rb-wr-wr-wr-wr-flex-te-k-d.
My wrs blow. I mean, my BEST starters are Ocho, Housh, Coles and Roy. Got some youth with upside, but still, they suck.
Should I just take the best of Dez, Mathews or CJ at 1.03 or should I take a wr even if Dez goes at 1.01/1.02? I LOVE Dez and Mathews, not so much CJ. I think CJ's still last of this elite tier, but with my wr needs so desperate, should I even consider somebody like Golden at 1.03? I'm not big on DThomas, especially in Denver.
I have the 3, 15, 43, 44 picks. I'll probably take a wr at 15 if ANY talent is there (and there will be) unless a top rb or qb falls to me (ie, Clausen, Tate, Dwyer, etc.)
Here's my entire roster, starters (at least LAST year, in bold):
Cassel, Matt KCC QB - 4 Favre, Brett MIN QB (Q) - 4 Flacco, Joe BAL QB - 8 Freeman, Josh TBB QB - 4
Benson, Cedric CIN RB - 6 Brown, Ronnie MIA RB (P) - 5 Jackson, Steven STL RB - 9 Slaton, Steve HOU RB (P) - 7
Aromashodu, Devin CHI WR - 8 Coles, Laveranues CIN WR - 5 Gage, Justin TEN WR - 9 Heyward-Bey, Darrius OAK WR - 10 Houshmandzadeh, T.J. SEA WR - 5 Knox, Johnny CHI WR - 8 Ochocinco, Chad CIN WR - 6 Thomas, Mike JAC WR - 9 Williams, Roy DAL WR - 4 Williamson, Troy JAC WR (P) - 9
Finley, Jermichael GBP TE - 10 Lewis, Marcedes JAC TE - 9 Olsen, Greg CHI TE - 8
Carpenter, Dan MIA PK - 5
Bears, Chicago CHI Def - 8 Cardinals, Arizona ARI Def - 6
If Mathews and Bryant go 1/2 in your draft I personally would look to deal the pick. I am not a fan of this years draft class to begin with and while Spiller has potential he plays on a lousy team, in lousy weather against fairly good teams. I also don't believe him to be even close to a 3 down back.
Target a WR heavy team and see what kind of deal you can put together.

What would be a good trade?
1.03 for a later pick, say 1.07 or 1.09 and maybe a 2nd round pick? 1.03 + a mid range player for a solid wr like Boldin?
If Dez isnt there or MAYBE Matthews, which I can't imagine him not being there after 1.01... I would trade down and hopefully get Tate and Thomas or some other prospects and hopefully one pans out. My way of seeing it outside of this top tier-ish (Dez and Matthews) then it's all about even-money, so try and get more picks and just keep the one that pans out. Fantasy-wise this draft just wasn't very deep in legit, elite talent.
If it was me, I'd be looking for a pick later in the first round and a second rounder for a shot into the top tier. At least that's how I'd sell it to a guy to come up and grab Spiller... But if someone's not willing to part with two picks, then maybe like the person above me look for a lower draft pick and an aging WR that still has some value but can provide a stop-gap for you for the next couple of years to develop a guy like Tate, Thomas, or another young WR that might fall to ya. Target a ABoldin, SMoss, WWelker (injury status needed updated), THoushmandzadeh, etc. depending on the value of your pick you're getting back.
I think that the top three are Matthews, Bryant and Best, I'm not a big fan of Spillers situation. I would say take which ever of those three falls to you. I think that Matthews and Bryant are both in great situations with the offenses that they are landing in. I think that Best is going in to a up and coming offense that should improve this year. Good luck.
Stay at 3 and take best available of Matthews, Best, and Dez.
If you are desperate to take a WR, you can talk to the guy at 1.5 and see what he would give up for the privilege of swapping picks... then take best available WR.
While I think Spiller has enormous talent, he's in a poor situation in BUF with no QB, 1 decent WR, and 2 other RBs that can start. If Lynch is traded/released, and camp reports on Spiller are very positive, maybe I can justify ranking him in the top 3 rookies... but until/unless that happens, he's overvalued if picked in the top-3 rookie spots.
