Dynasty Draft Question

Postby Amatter32 » Sun May 02, 2010 11:40 pm

In a very deep dynasty (18 team IDP) I'm looking at the second pick, Bradford was taken number 1. I'm torn between Mathews and Clausen. Mathews is regarded as the best rookie in the class, but my league can start 2 QBs and I have Delhomme as well as Chris Redman. Do I pass on Mathews and take Clausen or wait till next year's QB crop?

You only have Delhomme and Redman???? Sorry but oh my! :-b

Proper answer would need you to post your roster, league settings etc... Clausen isn't going to help you this year, Matthews will. Are either of them stellar, nope. You have anyone asking to trade up?

Exactly. With the lack of QB depth, I would look at BPA - which in this case at this point is Matthews. Then look to package some players to get a servicable QB - depending on your roster you might just have to trade for a warm body O:-)

There is no way you can pass up Matthews for a project Qb like Clausen. This is a very weak QB class, you cannot burn a #2 pick on a guy that is no lock to pan out. I am not saying that Matthews is a guaranteed stud, but he is very talented and he is in a perfect situation. I mean if you get desperate for a Qb, Matthews trade value should be very high if he looks good in camp.

I agree, I'd take Mathews no question. But you definitely need another QB before the season starts. Then again, I've never been in an 18 team league, and if your WRs and RBs are strong, maybe it's normal to have weak QBs...but since you're picking 2nd, I would guess not. Post your roster and people can help you more.
