Jeremy Maclin + What for Steve Smith? WHIR!

Postby Swipe79 » Thu May 06, 2010 6:27 pm

12 Team Head to Head league, we start 2 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 K, 2 DL, 2 LB, 2 DB

One of our team owners is a Philly Eagles fan and is after Jeremy Maclin from my team. He made an initial offer that doesn't really help me out at all, but seems interested in trading Steve Smith as long as he gets decent value back. Teams keep up to 20 players, with fewer keepers compensated with picks, and we have not had our draft yet. Here is a list of my team and first few picks, and his team and first few picks. Anyone have an idea of what to offer?

QB - Ben Roethlisberger, Matt Cassell
RB - Adrian Peterson, Frank Gore, Shonn Greene, Jamal Charles, Fred Jackson
WR - Sidney Rice, Hines Ward, Donald Driver, Jeremy Maclin, Robert Meachem
TE - Owen Daniels, Jermichael Finley
LB - Brian Cushing

Picks: 6th overall, 12th overall, 21st overall, 27th overall

QB - Kevin Kolb, David Garrard]
RB - Marion Barber, Jerome Harrison, LeSean McCoy
WR - DeSean Jackson, Steve Smith

Picks: 4th Overall, 8th Overall, 16th overall, 34th overall

Our scoring is a little different then most leagues

Passing - 1 Pt per PaTD, 1 Pt per 75 PaYds, .5 Pt per 2 Pt Conversion, -1 Pt per INT, -1 Pt per FL
Rushing - 1 Pt per RuTd, 1 Pt per 33 RuYds, .5 Pt per 2 Pt Conversion, -1 Pt per FL
Receiving - 1 Pt per ReTd, 1 Pt per 33 ReYds, .5 Pt per 2 Pt Conversion, -1 Pt per FL

Would Driver and Maclin for Smith work? Any help is appreciated, and I will help in return.

Steve Smith NYG or Steve Smith CAR?

I see you posted some of your scoring.... so there is no points per reception, correct?

Sorry, that is Steve Smith (NYG)

This is not a PPR league, scoring is what I listed.

Thank you for the clarifications. ;-D

I would have no issue with you getting rid of Driver -- a dependable guy but I think last year was his ceiling for the rest of his career, and his stock is as high as it is ever going to get IMHO.

Smith is going to offer solid production in your scoring system. I really like Maclin's upside but there are question marks at QB and OL (as well as being a #2 behind DJax), so at this point I clearly have Smith above Maclin.

I would offer Driver and Maclin for Smith and his 1.4 (and easily settle for the 1.8).... then try and combo your 1.6 and that 1.8 pick for a top-3 pick.

Good luck ;-D

Sound advice, but you may have to toss in a later pick as well to get it done.

You may very well be right... and I would have no problem tossing in another pick in this scoring system.... IMHO the top guys have a lot more value than a more standard scoring league... so I don't mind having to pay a little bit to get that potential stud.

There is also the homer factor that comes in to play with the guy I am trading with. He wants every Eagle he can get on his roster...he even told me that he wants to take Celek at #4 overall. I've shot him a couple of ideas, we'll see what he comes back with. Thanks for the ideas/input guys!
