I guess I must have missed that vote tbh, this was the first thread I noticed regarding voting unless I just wasn't checking for it.

But yes, I would vote no waivers all summer, if there are guys out there worth getting, let them pick up steam until after week 1. If we had waivers all summer i think the pool after week 1 would be close 2 depleted, and I always like for there to be a strong wave of waivers week 1. That way by mid season you don't have nearly every team with $80+ for waivers. And if you were going to start processing amounts for waivers now, some teams may have not enough money by the time the season started.

Just my POV though, from my experience I like to give guys a chance at some FA's during draft time, then lock everything(unless u need a K or DEF) until after week 1. That week of waivers should result in guys spending alot of money, getting the guys they had in mind, and increase the value of some players. If you truly wanted a guy prior I would of liked to think you would have gotten him after these 5 rounds. But i'll go with majority vote.

Put me down for weekly waivers throughout summer. I like the idea of not waiting until after week 1. Everyone will have a fair shot at all the FAs through training camp, and if I spent all my money before the season starts, thats my own fault...

I think the best way to make Week 1 more meaningful is to not have increased the roster size. I think if we're battling for a Buffalo QB or someone who won the 3rd RB spot for some team, it's not going to be that meaningful anyway.

This year is a little different too because of the roster size increase. Presumably we will stay at 30 man rosters next year. But this year if you didn't trade, you haven't had a chance to replace anyone, just add people.

The draft is almost over, so I'm more inclined to just go with the easy answer and revisit this next year.

Weekly waivers starting now also avoids the "by mid season you don't have nearly every team with $80+ for waivers" scenario. Some teams will have less than $20 before the season starts.

Cuts

Postby thriftyrocker » Tue Jun 22, 2010 12:55 am

I increased the roster size temporarily to see how many cuts people needed. Here is what I found

LS2 - 2 cuts
AaA - 2 cuts (after adding Moore)
IamGregg - 1 cut

Everyone else is good to go, I think.
