Dynasty Draft in Progress /// RB Help Please

Postby kidwithhelmet » Fri May 07, 2010 9:00 am

Currently in a dynasty draft... PPR with a 2RB / 3WR / Flex lineup

1.03 - MJD
2.10 - Sidney Rice
3.03 - Greg Jennings
4.10 - Peyton Manning
5.03 - Brent Celek
6.10 - Arrellious Benn
7.03 - Braylon Edwards
8.10 - Marion Barber
9.03 - ?

Thin at RB so I'm thinking about cornering some of the Dallas RB market. Landed MB3 last night, and coming back around the turn I'm considering taking Tashard Choice. Good move? Or should I look elsewhere, say, Slaton / Dwyer / Forsett? My thinking with taking Choice is that, while a backup, I've probably got a guaranteed 15 touches in Dallas every week when combined with MB3... What say you?

Slaton would be my pick I think but that is tough. You left RB and little too late imo, tough to recover from and you can start 3. I would be taking RB in at least 2 of the next 3 rounds if not 3 of the next 4 depending on quality. I would at the least look to load my bench with prospects and hope you can pan out that way.

Harrison, Maroney, Lynch, F. Jackson, Bradshaw all gone?

I'd take Choice, Slaton and Forsett are in RBBC and you already stepped into one with Barber. I'd try to corner as much of the market as you can in Dallas because I wouldn't expect Jones to hold up, he's been hurt every season so far and with an increased workload He'll get hurt again and Choice will fill that void with Barber still running cleanup & Goal line duty. If Slaton is still there after I'd grab the next pick.

Is Ben Tate available? If he is, I would look there and then take Slaton (if available) at the next pick and try to corner the HOU backfield. I think you can afford to wait on Choice... while he is talented, he is clearly the 3rd RB in DAL.

Really appreciate the input guys. Ended up going with Choice (my pick came up only a few minutes after I posted)...

Tate was selected in the early 5th. I'm a fan, which is why I was a little nervous about rolling the dice on Slaton here. I got about a 20 pick wait until I select again, would obviously like to get him with my next pick but that wont happen unless I trade up.

Typically, I'm comfortable with this approach, but I've been reeling a bit in this draft. I've been sniped on my #2 RB a few different times and have been relegated to taking BPA instead, which isn't the worst plan but has left me behind the 8-ball. Harrison, Maroney and Jackson are still available.

I would take a flier on Maroney first. Still young but has the issue of paying on a massive RBBC with whomever happens to be on the team at the time. I would have taken all 3 over Choice but that is just me. Taking Choice is something I understand just wouldn't have done myself.

I ;-D ;-D ;-D the Choice pick. Choice is not a handcuff. He will start somewhere, it is just a matter of time. He is Chester Taylor. I would take him over FJackson (age) and Maroney (fail). Harrison is a tougher choice considering you went WR heavy and need rb help now, but there the handcuffness helps a little.
