Too Much for M.Turner?

Postby tmoney26 » Sat May 08, 2010 5:21 pm

12 team keeper, no ppr, start 1qb, 2rb, 3wr, 1te, 1k, 2dl, 3lb, 2db

qb-mcnabb, flacco
rb- sjax, d.williams, k.moreno
wr- r.white, v.jackson, s.rice, d.bowe, m.wallace
te- v.davis, o.daniels
lb- k.morrison, a.curry, d.ryans, j.mayo, e.dumervil

I give up s.rice, o.daniels, d.ryans

for m.turner

I can only keep keep 1qb, 2rb, 3wr, 1te, plus an offensive rookie

i'm a little nervous with sjax and williams is a 50/50 back.

thanks for the help

I would actual look at a 3 team deal. You will need to explain what IDP you can keep though.

I would look to see if any team has a top 5 RB1 but a poor RB2 on board. You then make the deal above and then deal 2 of the 3 RB's on your roster for a Johnson or AD or MJD. Leaving you with EG: SJax and AD.

That's exactly what I was thinking.

We can keep 2dl, 3lb, 2db, and a defensive rookie (probably Curry for me).

As it stands now, yes, I would make that deal.

There are 24 RBs that are kept and Turner is a RB1. I would hate to lose Rice, but I think Favre leaves and with it he takes some of Rice's value with him.

I would make this deal. The other owner is taking a big risk not knowing if Favre is retuning or not. I see Sidney's numbers taking a huge hit with Tavaris at Qb. Daniels is worthless to you since you are keeping Davis. I know that Ryans is an IDP stud, but I think a stud Rb trumps a stud IDP. Turner is one of those rare backs that are not involved in a RBBC and get goal line carries.

I would do the trade and keep:
McNabb
S Jax, Turner
Roddy, V JAX, Bowe
Davis
Moreno

thanks to Franchise Fan for the sig!!!!!

I agree with all of this. Turner is easily in the top 10 RBs, especially in non-PPR leagues.

Then, since you can only keep 2 RBs, you maybe look to deal D Will (remind folks of his 20 TDs in '08 ;-D ) or Moreno and add McNabb and get a better QB. I think McNabb is a fringe starter, and Flacco has upside, but can't be trusted to start yet...

You could also go for that 3rd stud WR to replace Rice... but I think starting QB is the weak spot on your formidable roster if you accept the original trade offer.

I accepted this trade and moved sjax/dwill for c.johnson. I tried to work a deal to get rivers but it didn't work out and I thought the opportunity to get cj was worth it.

so this is what i'm looking at for keepers

qb-mcnabb or flacco
rb- c.johnson, m.turner, k.moreno (rookie keeper)
wr-r.white, v.jackson, bowe
te- davis
lb- morrison, mayo, curry

I love both trades. Some may say it was too expensive to get Chris Johnson... but you gotta pay to get the best.... and as I stated before, with your keeper limitations, its worth upgrading starters when you have the depth that you do.

You have turned your RBs from 2 guys with question marks into 2 top-6 RBs (non-PPR)

And in reality, the only things you've given up are your 3rd WR, your backup TE, and some RB depth. Without knowing the other rosters, I can only imagine you have the strongest core of players going into the draft, making you a favorite to win it all if you draft fairly well. Nice job. ;-D

Exactly ;-D

I think you did a great job in improving your team and not only being competitive in the short-term, but also for the future
