RB or WR with #2 rookie pick?

Postby WTA » Thu May 13, 2010 3:27 pm

12 team dynasty league, standard scoring. We can start 2RB/3WR or 1RB/4WR. I have the #2 pick and am torn between going RB (Best) or WR (Bryant). Here's the RB's and WR's I have now:

RB - Rice, Gore, Benson, McGahee, Maroney, Ward, Coffee
WR - Marshall, Smith (NYG), Wallace, Collie, Avant, D Henderson, Heyward-Bey

A couple of these guys will be dropped since I have 23 guys now, have 6 draft picks coming up, and we only carry 20 on our roster.

Which guy should I grab?

*edit - should probably add that I don't have a 2nd round pick... I have 1.02, 3.02, 4.02, 4.07, 5.02 and 5.07.

I would say neither and deal the pick for an established WR. You may have to package something to go elite but I think you should be able to swing a deal for at least a top 15 WR if not a top 10 WR.

You do need help at WR -- but I doubt Bryant will help you much.

Given your options of Best or Bryant, I would go with Best and then try to trade him or one of your other RB's for a WR you can start every week.

Personally, I have Houston's Ben Tate as my #2 RB for 2010 after Ryan Matthews. I would take Tate with the expectation of him winning the Texans' starting job in camp. If Tate produces, you could afford to deal a RB like Cedric Benson for a truly good WR.

Good luck.
