I have 1.04 and 1.07. The first picks look like they're gonna be, in order: Dez, Mathews, Thomas. This is not what I was hoping for. I was hoping Dez or Thomas would've fallen to me. Mr WRs are Wayne, Cotchery, and a bunch not worth mentioning. We start 3. My RBs are Charles and MJD.
I have no idea what to do now. I'm not crazy about Spiller. Best is ok. I like Ben Tate. I like Arrelious Benn and Golden Tate. Should I try trading 1.04 for a WR2 to someone who really wants Spiller?
You can try to trade the pick, but only do it for a WR you can plug right into your lineup.
If you can't trade the pick, take the RB (I like Best in this spot of who is available) and make a trade somewhere before the start of the season. Then take best available WR at the 1.7.
I really like your pick of Ben Tate. At 1.07 you should be able to get Benn or Golden Tate, both their teams will throw a lot, and there is not much competition for catches. If I had to choose I'd go with Benn, 'cause Seattle might make some noise and grind out some wins this year, while Benn and Tampa will be trailing early and often. Golden Tate still has Housh and Carlson ahead of him for catches, while Benn might be Tampa's best target by mid-season. (KW II might be better, but then again might get hurt, too.)
Eh, I'll play Devil's Advocate because I hate the Tate pick over Spiller.
If it's a redraft sure, Tate over Spiller all day, but am I the only one who paid attention to what Spiller did at the college level? He scored TD's from all over the place, KR, receiving, RB, on a terrible team with no other weapons to take focus off of him. He is electric when he touches the ball, also when you look at the success of Chris Johnson, Felix Jones, Jamaal Charles, and so many other backs his frame, size and speed it's really hard to ignore.
Yes Houston has 10x the offensive firepower now and it's not even close, yes Buffalo sucks with their line, WR's, QB, and with more RB's in the way I get that...But this is dynasty, teams change yearly and I'm taking the more talented player.
Remember how bad the situation was for Roddy White in ATL? How about Calvin Johnson in Detroit? Now look at both of those same situations and see how fast they changed? Tate was not even in the same stratosphere in college as being a better RB, and I highly doubt he will in the pros either, he's a workout warrior who is a nice fit but the talent level of the two is completely off.
I'd easily take Spiller and know that eventually his talent will overcome that situation and become a stud sooner then later.

I lked Spiller at Clemson as well. But now he's in Buffalo. These guys are Raiders North, and they are possibly worse. Their offensive line is a work in progress, they have no QB (starting Brian Brohm -- really?), and Spiller may have to share reps with Fred Jackson and Marshawn Lynch at this point. Playing 6 games combined against the Jets, Pats and Dolphins won't help his numbers, either.
Just because Chris Johnson surprised everyone as a smallish speed back that went off for 2,000 yards, doesn't mean Spiller will come anywhere close to that, at any point in his career. I really wish Spiller had gone to a better team, because since he is in Buffalo, I couldn't pass on guys like Tate or Best to draft him.

As I said before this is dynasty, not redraft...Situations change so fast that it's hardly worth being a deciding factor for your pick...I just used Atlanta and Detroit as examples, hell even Miami, they were all 3 worse then Buffalo is right now and yet their offenses are completely turned around, you plan on keeping a guy for his career not 1-2 seasons.
Buffalo will suck next year, but Spiller is by FAR a better talent then Tate, and I'm taking talent over situation 10x out of 10 in dynasty.
