And instead of keeping 1 of them...I keep Hakeem Nicks?
would that be stupid?
Its a 3 keeper 1/PPR league
My keepers are
PT D. Williams
and a choice with one of the above mentioned WRs
I mean...i was going to try and rid Rice, and V-jax for picks anyway, and just keep Jennings, but with all this upside to nicks, and the current injury to hixon only makes his value more...im actually considering trading rice, jax, and greg for picks and just keeping nicks.
QB QB RB RB RB/WR WR WR WR TE/WR TE k Def
With all those hot rookies on the board this year, including Jamal Charles if he doesnt get traded...would I be doing a smart move? or stupid?
Jay Cutler or Desean Jackson (1 of them will be dropped Reggie Wayne Knowshon Moreno Jamaal Charles Roddy White Shonn Greene Steve Smith car Chad Ochocinco Chris Wells Jerome Harrison Philip Rivers or Matt Ryan(1 team owns both and must drop one) Mike Sims-Walker Anquan Boldin Steve Smith nyg Mike Wallace All the TE's Percy Harvin Fred Jackson Hines Ward meachem Forsett Lynch Bush Early Soucet Breaston Welker Mcnabb Eli Favre Flacco Kolb Lienart Big Ben Hassellbeck cassell Campbell gerrard Joeseph Addai Donald Brown Garcon/collie Sanchez Dwayne Bowe Hightower Dmac and Michael Bush Devin Hester
Those are just some notable names in the draft this year in my keeper league plus all the rookies also all the sleepers will be around like
Jacoby Jones, knox, aromoshodu, deon bulter..ect
So with all those names in there at WR, RB Would it be smart move by me Trading my top recievers for picks and just keeping Nicks?
ok there is 10 teams and 15 rounds after we the 3 keepers we have
I already have an extra 5th round pick which is nice cause i can grab 2 TEs that round
I can probly get a 1st and 2nd round for Rice, Jennings, and V-jax
there is a team that i know will give me a first round for v-jax and either jennings or Rice cause he only has 1 keeper which is Shaub and the rest are complete garbage. he would def give me a 1st round for Jax and Jennings. Then i can get a 2nd round to another team who needs a keepers for Rice.
In a PPR league. Nicks might only get 60-70 receptions, Steve Smith is the go-to receiver for the Giants. With only three keepers for each team in the league, you can probably draft Nicks in the third (or possibly fourth) round, if you like him that much and want him back.
It's true that Brett Favre might not return, and that the V-Jax holdount could get ugly. (If I knew for a fact V-Jax would hold out for a month or two I would definately move him).
But facts are facts; one fact is that Sidney Rice is really, really good. Don't trade him. The other fact is that Vincent Jackson has leverage on the Chargers (without V-Jax their best receiver is their TE), so until I'm certain there's a holdout happening, no way am I trading him.
But if you can deal Jennings and V-Jax for solid picks, by all means do it.
Now, if you cqn get a solid draft pick for Rice or V-Jax that gets you a solid player, it might be worth dealing one of them. But to me it would have to be a 1st round pick in return...I would hang onto Rice and instead drop Nicks, doing the deal for the 1st round pick for V-Jax and Jennings.
If you pick 1.1 and 1.3 and can get Ryan Matthews (my preferred choice) or Jammal Charles at 1.1, and then get Wayne, White or Marshall at 1.3 -- you will be in great shape.
You can afford to reach on Nicks if you are high on him since you have extra picks anyways...but I would waiti until the third round minimum, making sure I had solid starters at QB and TE before taking him. I would wait until the 4.3 pick. That would be basically be pick #63 if there are 30 keepers and then 32 draft picks before you would select Nicks. I don't think Nicks is in the top 63 fantasy players coming into 2010...ESPN's Matthew Berry ranked Nicks 84th back on April 8th, just as a reference.
its not that im big on nicks, but i am thinking getting extra picsk with all the goodies to grab early is a sneaky move to get a really good balanced team.
Its tuff to get a balanced team in a two QB leagues like mine...you either dominate in 1 or 2 areas and lack in others like TE or QB. Or you are balanced with all second class guys like WR3's , while its good to have a balanced team...dominating in RBs and WRs can win you championship title...and if you have a balanced team while dominating in 2 areas...you are probly going to win
here it is again
10 team 3 keeper 1/PPR
QB Jay Cutler QB Joe Flacco WR Mike Sims-Walker WR Mike Wallace WR Nicks RB Pierre Thomas RB D. Williams WR/TE Deven Aromoshodu WR/RB Ryan Mattews TE JerMichael Finley K Random Def Random
Bench (7) Jammal Charles Jacoby Jones Dustin Keller J. Stewart Donnie Avery Sam Bradford Meachem
This is a realistic outlook of what my roster would look like with those extra picks. PT, Jammal Charles, DWill/Stewart/Ryan Mattews, Cutler(Sleeper), Flacco, Keller(breakout year?), Finley.
Thats pretty much dominating in 3 areas while having a balanced Team, and My recievers wouldnt look bad either. High end WR2's. I calculated this in almost everyway, and Im thinking its better give up Jennings/V-jax, and Sidney Rice for picks
With a big roster like that...its tuff to dominate in 3 areas and still be balanced...with 2 picks in the 1st, 2nd and 5th rounds..i would be able to do that easy. Nicks at worst will be a high end WR3..at worst scenerio.
In a PPR league. Nicks might only get 60-70 receptions.
Only get 60-70 receptions? Thats amazing...
last year he had 47 catches for 800 yards and 6 TD's! as a rookie who didnt even see fulltime work. 70 receptions in his second year? Pfft...thats 1,200yrds and 11Tds on paper. He will probly do better than that. hmmm. Basically this will happen..odds are he will put these numbers up especially with Hixon out of the picture. Hes a low end WR1 possibly.
Well now that Hixon is out of the picture, manningham is most likely going to be put in his spot for Return Duties, which limits his offensive role even more. That said, we do indeed see nicks with 70 receptions or more. Even 70 receptions ill take if you look at his stats..lol.
I don't think Dominik Hixon's absence does much to help Nicks. I would expect the Giants to bring in a return guy to take Hixon's spot, rather than make it Manningham's job.
Matthew Berry updated his rankings June 5th, and now Nicks is 69th on the list and is the 26th-ranked WR.
You have to drop him, and taking him high in the third round is still a reach imo;
thanks, but im seeing this guy rank Ryan Grant, cedric bensen, and Randy Moss ahead of Arron Rodgers..im sorry, arron rodgers is ranked ahead of ryan grant on any given day.
