Taking a run at Ryan Matthews... thoughts? WHIR

Postby cspirk » Wed Jun 23, 2010 12:34 pm

I give up:
Justin Forsett & Pierre Garcon

I get:
Ryan Matthews

Should I propose this trade? Is it too much? Thanks and WHIR.

I would turn it down. While FOrsett is a popular pick these days he is still not considered anNFL level RB. Garcon could be good but is still a mid round selection.

You will need to step up the offer to get Matthews.

Thanks for the insight. We can trade future draft picks too so perhaps I will add a pick and see what happens.

If anyone has any further thoughts, feel free to post!

I think Matthews is a legit NFL RB and will be the RB1 in D for a long time. TO get me to deal him you would need to add at the least your 2011 1st and probably more.

I don't think that is near enough for matthews. I am very high on Matthews, he is a talented guy in a great situation. I think that you are going to have to give up a stud to get matthews and forsett/garcon aren't studs.

Not enough IMO. Regardless though besides CJ you're kinda hurting at RB so I would say try and trade a combo like that plus a future pick, OR trade away Austin for Matthews and someone in return from them.

Help with mine?

Not even close!!! Forsett will be worthless and even Garcon I expect to be down from last year, Gonzelez will be back. Matthews will be a top twenty pick in all drafts.
QB: BREES, Cutler
RB: TURNER, MCGAHEE, R. JENNINGS, Leshoure, D. Williams, Hillman, Hunter, Dwyer
WR: CRUZ, GARCON, Amendola, Edwards, D. Baldwin
TE: GRAHAM

and you think you can get him with Forsett and Garcon :-?

With this being his rookie off-season you still need to look at it as a 1.01 pick. What will it take to get the #1 overall pick.

I am also going to guess that the guy that has his does not have a very good team - that is why he was able to pick 1.01 and get Matthews. Like others have said, it is going to take quite a bit to get him and I'm guessing even then it might be hard.

For me to even begin considering it(without knowing his team), I would want 2011 1st rounder, 2011 3rd rounder and Austin.
