it looks like im drafting at the turn, and would like to get a WR, im guessing AJ will be gone, maybe another WR too. was wondering if you guys agree with these rankings for the top WRs...also would like to know your thoughts, explanations if you disagree.
1. AJ-stable situation, no brainer 2. Moss-getting a little older, and disappeared for a stretch of the season last year, Welker out could mean more looks and more coverage his way, but i still have him 2. 3. Wayne-will always be pretty safe WR1 with Peyton, but the offense doesnt run through him 4. Fitzgerald-cards will be a running team this year, but he's too good to drop very far. Without boldin could be good or bad. 5.Roddy White-top WR on a pretty good Offense, has improved every year. 6.Calvin-Stafford a year better could help. always seems to be injured though, and not many Tds to go around. 7. Sydney Rice-if favre returns
thanks. that seems a little high for calvin. i dont see how you can rank him over Fitz. Fitzy is the more developed/more talented (imo) WR and his situation doesnt seem any worse. hopefully i wont have to make that decision b/c im hoping for Moss.
I would replace Austin with Boldin. I am not sold on Austin yet, especially with Dez Bryant coming in. I think his big year was more due to there was just nobody else to go to for Romo.
Boldin has Flacco who I really like for my late round QB except another owner in my league also has a man-crush on him (he traded Brady to me after 2 weeks last year because he had Flacco to start).
QB: BREES, Cutler RB: TURNER, MCGAHEE, R. JENNINGS, Leshoure, D. Williams, Hillman, Hunter, Dwyer WR: CRUZ, GARCON, Amendola, Edwards, D. Baldwin TE: GRAHAM

That's why FF is good. Would be no fun if we had the same rankings. My opinion is that there is not a single WR in the NFL today better than Calvin. His skill set, work ethic and natural talent are unmatched in the NFL. His ceiling is above everyone and I am willing to take the shot on him. Fitz no longer has ol man Warner tossing him the ball he now has Leinart who so far has been a monumental bust. I would not be surprised to see FItz further down the list at the end of the year.
just another note on Fitz/Leinhart. i think 1 of 2 things will happen in AZ this year. Either: 1. Leinhart will improve his game, based on a strong running game and conservative playcalling to support him, and Fitz will have solid numbers (not his usual great numbers but not a huge dropoff either)
2, Leinhart will be a bust, and will be yanked by week 3 for Derrick Anderson, who has proved he can play when surrounded by talent (and AZ is). Anderson to Fitz could be a good combo, and would result in pretty solid numbers as well, but once again not his usual greatness.
I'm predicting #2, with a substantial decrease in yardage and catches for Fitz, but still catching 10-12 TDs, because Boldin wont be there to take the red zone catches away. Either way i think Fitz is still top 5 WR but closer to the bottom of that 5. Still clearly ahead of the 2nd tier Wrs.
i think RB production is based mainly on situation, and WR production is based mainly on talent level of the player. Fitz put up good numbers before Warner was there and will continue to after warner is gone.
Hey srlarson - Why no love for Roddy? I think he's gonna put up top 5 WR numbers this year. WIth Ryan and Turner back healthy I think the sky is the limit.
White Marshall Jennings Colston Sidney Rice Steve Smith CAR Boldin D Jax
*Vincent Jackson. If he and SD were to kiss and make up, I would include him in that 2nd tier right under Calvin. But that's starting to look less likely... latest rumors are that SD is shopping him. He is a talented WR, but if he is indeed traded, my ranking of him will be determined on where he ends up.
Ideally I get two of these 14 guys to go with a 1st round stud RB... I think there's a big dropoff to the next level of Ochocinco/Harvin/Crabtree/Nicks etc, guys that are much better suited to be high-upside WR3s than WR2s.
