Who is my last keeper? WHIR!

Postby snixx79 » Wed Jun 30, 2010 3:29 pm

Hey everyone. I am in a 12 team keeper, standard performance laegue (6 pts all td's tho) NON PPR. We keep 8 players yearly and have a rookie/FA draft just prior to week 1. Im sure i have my first 7 keepers nailed down, but i am torn on the 8th.

My team: (keepers in bold)

QB: Brady
RB: P.Thomas, J.Harrison, MB3, Choice, K.Smith, M.Bell, J.Davis
WR:Colston, White, Bowe, A.Bryant, L.Evans, James Jones, Manningham
TE: Olsen
K: Hartley,
DEF:Falcons, Giants

I am having trouble deciding on the final keeper here. Options:

Kevin Smith--recovering from serious knee surgery, Lions drafted Best. Will Smith still be relevant enought to warrant keeping on the roster?
James Jones-- He is in line right now to replace the newly reconstructed and very old Donald Driver. Worth stashing becuase of his upside on a pass heavy team?
Antonio Bryant--is inconsistent, but has Ocho on the other side now and could be nice and productive again.
Lee Evans --only real option in the pass game, i see him ranked higher than Bryant in some places, but its the buffalo qb's here we are talking about.

If anyone has any advice i would love to hear it! Leave a link and i will hit you back as well!

Cheers
Chris

Well it comes down to a couple of things for me. One when do you need your keepers in? I may keep Choice to handcuff him to MBIII in Dallas. It would be either him or Bryant that I would keep. Byant is finally in a offense with a decent running game (if Benson doesn't get into too much trouble), a quality qb and a weapon on the opposite side of him with Chad 8 5. I think that Jones and Smith you could easily pick back up in your draft. Too me I'm keeping Choice, you can never have enough rb's, but may even flip Bowe and Bryant depending on when you need your keepers turned in (see what happens in training camps). Good luck.

Some good points about considering Choice to back up MB3. I just don't see Felix Jones as a between-the-tackles, move-the-chains, kill-the-clock type of guy... and I think DAL will have their fair share of games where they get up big and want/need to move the ball on the ground.

I would probably say Antonio Bryant right now, but depending on what happens in camp and preseason, I would look at Choice as well.

I'm in agreement on the 2 listed above. Its either Choice as the cuff or Bryant as a guy who can play as your Wr2-Wr3. Probably better suited for WR3 but could do very well in Cincy. Given your situation at WR you might not even have to play him.

If MBIII does go down its choice who will fill his shoes. They already like him alot and will get him involved a little more this year than last to keep Barber Fresh.

Very tough choice. I would lean towards Choice because I feel you already have 3 good WR's and you are not as deep at RB.

with no real obvious last keeper i think Choice may be the way to go, he is great insurance with MB3, other than that i think Bryant will have a brerakout year.
