Draft only league, nffc format $100 entry fee

Postby coloradotim » Tue Jul 27, 2010 6:27 pm

Here's a "draft only" nffc style fantasy football league a group of us who played in an nffc style baseball league are organizing. We have openings for 2 or 3 owners. $100 entry fee with all money collected going to prizes. We are using My Fantasy League (MFL) for our stat service. No trades, no free agents, no starting lineups (the MFL site picks your starting lineup each week from your best scoring players)

Slow draft league where the draft will be done by the MFL website/email over an extended time (a week or so). You get an email when it is your turn to pick. The rules below specify a "snake" draft but we are still considering a "3 RR" draft order (when we have the league full we'll settle this with the owners)

League fees are kept by League Safe - guaranteed payout.

Send me a PM with your email address or reply if you are interested.

Tim

More details:

The National Fantasy Football Championship Draft Champion Leagues will consist of 14 teams, with each team compiling 26 NFL players through a serpentine draft. Teams will compete in a year-long competition for the highest number of points, accumulating points from Week 1 through Week 16 from its highest scoring players from the 10 required positions. The team with the highest point total in the league after Week 16 will be determined the league champion. The top 3 finishers will win a cash prize.
2. Draft

The draft will be a "slow" draft through the MFL site. The order the draft will be chosen randomly in a manner to be determined. The league will use KDS for draft preferences and a "snake" format (order reversed each round). The draft will go in order from Team #1 through Team #14 in the odd numbered rounds and then come back in reverse order in even numbered rounds (Team #14 through Team #1). We draft 26 rounds.

League Prizes:

1. First Place =$800
2. Second Place = $400
3. Third Place =$200

4. No Trading

Trading is not allowed during the NFFC season and owners are not allowed to trade draft picks.
5. Roster Requirements

Maximum of 26 players at all times.
6. Starting Lineup Requirements:

1. 1 Quarterback
2. 2 Running Backs

5. 1 Flex Player (RB, WR, or TE)
6. 1 Kicker
7. 1 Team Defense/Specials Team

7. Scoring

Players can accumulate points in a number of ways:

PASSING:

1. .05 points for every yard passing (works out to 1 point every 20 yards).
2. 6 points for every passing touchdown
3. 2 points for every 2-Point conversion
4. minus 1 point for every interception and lost fumble

RUSHING:

1. .10 points for every yard rushing (works out to 1 point every 10 yards).
2. 6 points for every rushing TD
3. 2 points for every 2-Point conversion
4. minus 1 point for every lost fumble
5. 6 points for a recovered offensive fumble for a touchdown (RB, QB, WR, TE)

RECEIVING:

1. .10 points for every yard rushing (works out to 1 point every 10 yards).

DEFENSE/SPECIAL TEAMS:

1. 1 point for every sack
2. 2 points for every interception or opponents' fumble recovery
3. 6 points for every touchdown (interception return, defensive fumble return, punt or kickoff return, blocked field goal return, blocked punt return). All special teams and defensive points are awarded to the team responsible, not the individual player.
4. 2 points for every safety
5. 12 points for a shutout by the entire team
6. 8 points for allowing 2-7 points by the entire team
7. 4 points for allowing 8-12 points by the entire team
8. 2 points for allowing 13-17 points by the entire team
9. In the event of a "double turnover" when a team's offense turns the ball over and on the same play forces a turnover and scores a touchdown, the offensive player who scored the touchdown will receive six points. The player will not receive any other fantasy points for the play. The Team Defense/Special teams will receive points for the fumble recovery, but not for the touchdown.

There will be no lineup submission for the Draft Champions league. The computer will give each team an optimal fantasy point total each week from their top-scoring QB, 2RBs, 3 WRs, TE, K, D/ST and Flex Player. Teams will accumulate these optimal point totals each week for 16 weeks. Scores in the NFFC are finalized with no changes possible after 6 p.m. EST each Thursday after the weekend games.
8. Free Agent Acquisitions:

There are no in-season free agent pickups in the Draft Champions League. What you draft is what you get.

So, for only $100, I can draft a team, and then do nothing else the rest of the season? How fun!

For those who want a draft challenge, it is. And if you draft well there is something you do at the end of the season - collect your prize winnings!

Actually, for the fantasy player who wants to add a league but doesn't feel they should because of the time required to manage a league; this is a pefect format to play in, not to mention the fact it does crown a TRUE draft champion!

I'm very glad I am in it!
