Blockbuster Dynasty Deal: Steven Jackson/Harvin/Picks WHIR

Postby chaindog35 » Tue Jul 27, 2010 11:31 pm

So, my dynasty league rookie draft begins this weekend and I have a trade on the table that I am considering. It's a 10 team dynasty league with standard, non-ppr scoring (6pts for all tds, 1 pt for 10 yd rush/rec or 25 yd pass). Starting requirements are 1QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1TE, 1Def, 1K.
I have been offered the #5 rookie pick, Percy Harvin, Chris Cooley, Fred Davis, and the #26 rookie pick for Steven Jackson and the #13 rookie pick. I think this is a pretty fair offer for me. Should I take it? If so, who do I cut and who do I look to draft? If not, what do I counter with?
Any help is appreciated and will be reciprocated.

My team: Starters listed first (bench in parentheses)
QB Peyton Manning (Drew Brees, Dennis Dixon, Byron Leftwich)
RB Adrian Peterson, Chris Johnson (Steven Jackson, Mike Bell, Marshawn Lynch, LeSean McCoy, Pierre Thomas, Ricky Williams, Jason Snelling)
WR Greg Jennings, Calvin Johnson, Reggie Wayne (Marques Colston, Legadu Naanee, Devin Hester, Kenny Britt)
TE Dallas Clark (Owen Daniels, Tony Scheffler)
K Bironas
Def Pats (Broncos)
Rookie Picks: #1, #9, #13, #19, #23

His team:
QB Matt Ryan (Jake Delhomme, David Garrard, Matthew Stafford, Jason Campbell)
RB MJD, Ronnie Brown (Glen Coffee, Tomlinson, Justin Forsett, Rashad Jennings)
WR Percy Harvin, Brandon Marshall, Steve Smith(Car) ( Jacoby Jones, Matt Jones, Lee Evans, Josh Morgan, Mo Massaquoi, Nate Washington)
TE Brent Celek (Chris Cooley, Fred Davis)
K none
Def Bengals D (Chargers D, Saints D)
Rookie Picks: #2, #3, #5, #22, #25, #26, #35

I would pass. I think there is a big dropoff after the top 4 rookies. Also, I don't ever see you starting Harvin with the WR's you have. I would try to get more for S JAX.

Honestly, your team is so stacked you could trade A. Peterson for Larry Johnson and you would still win the league easily. If anything, I would look to deal for Andre Johnson. You already have possibly the #1 Qb, the top 2 Rb's, you might as well get the #1 WR.

Honestly I don't think you need to do a damn thing with your team! I guess you might as well take the trade, but I doubt Harvin would even be of much use to you. Like it has been already said, try and Peddle Manning, Brees, or SJack for Andre Johnson.

I just rewrote what I was thinking....SJAX is a stud and you probably won't play him and he really is in the last 2 or 3 years of his prime. I would do the trade if you like change, which I do. You can draft Hardesty from CLE or Tate from HOU with the no. 5 pick. (I would go with Hardesty.) or trade us to the top 3 with that 5 pick to get Matthews, Bryant, Best (in that order).

If not, try to move SJAX for something a little better....maybe a WR.

If you do it drop Broncos (don't need two def), Britt, and Snelling.
