I wish the post didn't have to be so long but here goes
12 team PPR with a bunch of other scoring (.4 points per completion, .2 points per rush, etc) rush/rec/ret. TDs=6 points, passing TDs = 5.
1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 2 W/R/T flex.
My current team: QB Kolb
WR Roddy Jennings Meachem Hester Collie Gaffney Hartline James Jones
RB Knowshon Moreno Mendenhall Mathews Bernard Scott
TE Gates Winslow (for flex purposes)
I know I have 3 pretty good RBs but no depth and a bunch of WRs. I have one trade up and a few other ill post later.
Trade 1: I get: Schaub, Forsett and Forte I give: Kolb, Collie, Bernard Scott and Mathews
I'm really torn on this trade. Schaub is great, but injury issues, while Kolb is unproven but his situation looks good. Forte is on that pass-first offense and now competing with Chester. Forsett appears to be the #1 in Seattle, and I likely wouldn't start Scott or Collie, so it's almost like Kolb and Mathews for Schaub, Forsett, Forte.
If I do the trade, I have a guy with Brees interested in Schaub. I'll post that trade after.
His team: RB: Greene, Forte, Felix, Forsett. He's pretty weak at WR (Colston, Evans, Knox, Doucet, Naanee). The only player I could probably see getting would be Greene if I added another WR; I highly doubt he would trade Colston since he's so weak there.
I would stick with what you have. I am a big fan of matthews, I think that he is going to be a stud. To me it's a big downgrade from Matthews to Forte/Forsett. Also, I don't think Schaub is a huge upgrade over Kolb. I see Kolb putting up solid numbers in Phillys offense. I think you will be fine with your current roster.
I agree with the others about staying put. I love Schaub but don't think the trade will benefit your team. Kolb will have some ups and downs but I think he will have a lot of ups this year with his weapons.
that sound fair? this would give me a more fair RB trade and a solid flex player in Forsett, and then a WR corps of Jennings, Roddy, and Colston.
i would definitely want to deal winslow to him since he's so deficient at TE. would this make sense or should i just stick with kolb and mathews and not trade them? maybe do a smaller offer like collie+scott+winslow for greene?

I completely disagree that Schaub is not a huge upgrade over Kolb. Schaub led the league in yardage without his all pro TE, basically throwing that AJ every play. Houston is going to be an offensive powerhouse this year. Schaub has been injured in the past but at what point is he going to get the pass on that? He played 16 last year. Kolb is unproven. UNPROVEN.

nice to see ONE PERSON want this trade (or at least the schaub factor).

this plus i am getting sick of everyone salivating over Matthews
I give: Kolb, Mathews, Winslow I get: Schaub, Forte, Colston
Now, I will have Robert Meachem and Colston. Should I probably try to send Meachem and Collie to him? I'd like to get Forsett here. Maybe add Meachem and Collie for Forsett and his first next season (since his team probably won't be good)?
I would probably have the best WRs in the league in Colston, Jennings, and Roddy. Maybe I could even unload colston and Forsett/Forte for a top RB?

I respect your opinion, but sometimes you have to take a chance on unproven guys. Just remember, Matt Schaub was unproven at one time. He was Michael Vicks backup in ATl. Were you down on him when he went to Houston because he was UNPROVEN. Were you down on Aaron Rodgers when he took over for Favre because he was UNPROVEN. Were you down on Phillip Rivers when he took over for Brees because he was UNPROVEN. Were you down on Steve Young when he took over for Montana because he was UNPROVEN. I can go on and on.
I like Schaub alot but I feel Kolb has a ton of potential and he plays in a great offense. I think it is crazy to give up Kolb and a young back with a ton of potential in a high powered offense for Schuab. That is just my 2 cents.
