keepers - which 3?

Postby Red Winger » Wed Jul 28, 2010 11:48 pm

My first three picks represent rounds 1-3 (drafting starts in "round 3") -standard scoring, except 6 points for passing TDs
Pick 3 and justify:
Chris Johnson
Miles Austin
Sidney Rice
Matt Schaub
DeAngelo Williams

I have no 4th round pick.

Obviously CJ is a no-brainer. I am leaning towards Austin and Schaub, but not settled there. That would give me a top flight at each major position, letting me build depth. Rice and DeAngelo have been good to me, and are in good position to continue, though.

league notes: everyone must keep 2, max of 4, representing the draft positions of round 1-4. I was league champ, and draft last in round 3-5, then snake (first in 6, last in 7th, and so on)
The key to a winning season is focusing on one opponent at a time. Winning one week at a time. Never look back and never look ahead.

CJ: Top RB
Schaub: Since passing TDs are 6 points, you need a top QB since most will likely be kept

Then I would probably keep Smiles. But I would try to trade a few guys for one great keeper to a team with not as much depth if you can, or see if anyone wants a guy for their 4th round draft pick.

CJ, Schaub and Austin

Schaub cuz of 6pts for TDs. austin is legit and williams is in a 50/50 split.

CJ - don't need to explain myself
Austin - Stud who should continue to do great this year
Rice - if you have time sit on him until Favre makes decision..but he blossomed last year and I think he can only get better

I love Schaub but if you look at him he is a yardage guy, not a TD guy. If you keep those three you can draft Flacco, who I think will have a simliar year to Schaub.

If it were my team, I would keep

CJ: obvious
Austin: after the way to played last season, how can you not keep him
Rice: assuming Favre plays, he should be a top 10 WR

I would pass on schuab mostly because the dropoff in QBs is less than at other positions, I see WR and RB being more vaiuable.
