10 team IDP league, H2H points, no PPR. I've finished 1st place the past two seasons so really would like to do the 3 peat since no one has ever managed that in 15+ years since the league started. (3 teams have gone back to back)
QB - Schaub RB1 - Turner RB2 - P Thomas WR1 - A Johnson WR2 - C Johnson DET TE - Davis K - Gould DB1 - Y Bell DB2 - B Merriweather LB1 - C Lofton LB2 - J Lauranaitis DL1 - R Mathis IND DL2 - S Ellis
Right now I don't have a pick in first two rounds but I'm hoping to move G Jennings and Mendenhall for at least an early-mid 2nd round pick. The best offer I've got so far is a 3rd round (25th overall) for Mendenhall but turned it down.
Q1 Would you keep P Thomas over Mendenhall at RB2? Q2 What should I go after with my first pick, assuming it is in 2nd round. I figure a RB like Portis or Forsett will be there or do I go after a backup QB like Flacco or Cutler? Q3 Do you see Davis putting up similar #'s to last season? Q4 I'm yucky at K, who would you choose out of the following - Carpenter, Rackers, Prater or Nedney?

QB - Schaub <-- Off. cord. went to the Redskins, still should be good RB1 - Turner <--- you need to get Snelling RB2 - P Thomas <-- if they sign another RB, bad pick, system does not allow him touches WR1 - A Johnson WR2 - C Johnson DET <---should bounce back, little worried about injuries and Stafford and lack of running game TE - Davis <--- Nice, upgraded line should help along with Crabtree's development K - Gould <--- Martz should get them into FG position DB1 - Y Bell DB2 - B Merriweather LB1 - C Lofton LB2 - J Lauranaitis DL1 - R Mathis IND DL2 - S Ellis *I like all but do not love any of your defense players, maybe Merriweather

Q1 Would you keep P Thomas over Mendenhall at RB2? Absolutely not. Q2 What should I go after with my first pick, assuming it is in 2nd round. I figure a RB like Portis or Forsett will be there or do I go after a backup QB like Flacco or Cutler? If you have no backup QB, take either QB, then Portis, then Snelling, and do not go near Forsett. Q3 Do you see Davis putting up similar #'s to last season? I see 800 and 8 TDs. Q4 I'm yucky at K, who would you choose out of the following - Carpenter, Rackers, Prater or Nedney? Rackers
Thanks jdouble. My thinking with Pierre Thomas is that he receives, we get bonus points if our RB gets 25 receiving yards in a game. That said Mendenhall will probably get far more touches and TD's being the every down back. Thomas has to split workload with Bush and could lose goal line carries to Hamilton. Plus NO is a passing team first. I think I'm going to take your advice.
What's wrong with Forsett, he should win the job in Seattle, no?

Mendenhall is injury prone which is amplified by the face he utilizes an AP bruiser style instead of an old school LT ankle breaking style, also, Dywer will make an impact before the mid-season. The Steelers did it with Parker when they had Bettis, with Medenhall when they had Parker, and will do so again this year. Unlike others, I do question Mendenhall's hands and am more down on their defense this year than most. Therefore, I think they could be passing a good bit (like last season, especially in the second half) and goal-line touches could still be stolen. Look at P. Thomas's season last year, the second half in particular, he is a 25+ rec. yard back per game.
Regarding Forsett, I was a USC fan for many years before Carroll left and I know the back he adores. Leon Washington is more his prototypical guy than Forsett, IMO. Nevertheless, I think Hasselback goes down early and that entire offense becomes very '09 CLE like. Charlie Whitehurst is a nobody and makes about as much sense as giving Delhomme a huge contract before last season. Best of luck my friend!
