Is this too much to give up for the # 1 pick in my $ League

Postby kemper5 » Fri Jul 30, 2010 6:41 pm

Im currently picking # 8 overall in my 12 man PPR $$ league and asked about trading up. THe guy holding the #1 position said he'd trade me his #1 pick for my 1st and 3rd round picks (# 8 and 32) Would you do this to get Chris Johnson?

WILL HELP IN RETURN !!!!

In standard yahoo leagues, 8 is Mendenhall or Mathews and 32 is benson, romo, colston.
8/17/32=Mendenhall/Fitzgerald/Romo or Mendenhall/Brees/Colston
1/17= CJ and Brees/Fitgerald

Most people say to get the best player in the deal which is obviously CJ.
Would you do CJ for Mendenhall and Brees?
Are QB TDs 4 pts and INTs 2 pts? or is it 6/td and 2/int?
I think CJ is going for close to 2000 yds this yr. Not knowing the point system, I would lean towards doing it. If QB TDs are 6, I might re-consider.
Let me know.

According to football guys' pick value calculator, the #8 and #32 picks have a combined value of 2289, whereas the #1 pick has a value of 1889, so in terms of value, you'd be taking a loss. Try and get him to throw in his 4th round pick, as the 1st and 48th picks have a combined value of 2495, swinging it into your favor.
good luck!

I wouldn't do the trade. If you do the trade, you are looking at very weak RB2 or WR 2 spots (whichever position you take in the 2nd round). I'd stick with the 8th spot and you can end up with a S.Jax.Turner.Andre/Calvin.Roddy/Desean.Jennings.Boldin.Benson type of 3 first round players, much better than a Chris Johnson/whoever gets back to you.
