New $$$ keeper league forming 100% paid out

Postby ramdog450 » Fri Jul 30, 2010 9:25 pm

I've had a lot of success with this setup in my first $$ league, so I'm looking to start another. I'm looking for owners that want to start in a league from the beginning and plan on playing for many years. If you are interested in joining please read over the rules and make sure you understand them. Ask any questions. I just want to make sure everything is clear before someone joins. You can respond here and / or email me at

The live on-line draft will be on Saturday 8/28 in the evening time, most likely 8:00 PM CST.

Basic info is $ 60 entry fee, keeper fees will be $ 10 each with a max of three, transaction fees cost $ 1 each. Since this will be the first year there are no keepers, so no keeper fees this year. Keeper fees will start in season two.

Gateway Fantasy Football League II is a keeper league with 12 teams divided into 2 divisions. The league will be hosted on (a free site). All league monies will be held at and distributed by them at the end of the season per GFFL rules.

Schedule Each team will play a 13 week game schedule each season. Each team will play two games against each team in their own division along with a total of 3 games against the other division in the league. Due to the 13 week schedule, you will not play everyone in the other divisions during the regular season, but adjustments will be made at year end so you face the other teams in future years. The schedules will be posted after the draft order has been selected.
Playoffs The championship bracket will be made up of the top 6 teams. Seeds # 1 and # 2 will be given to the division winners and they will have a bye the first week of the playoffs. Seeds # 3 through # 6 will be made up of the top 4 teams remaining.

There will also be a Toilet bowl playoff brackets made up of the 6 teams not making the GFFL Championship bracket. Seeding will work the same way.

League fees The annual league fee will be $ 60 dollars.

Transaction fees All transaction will cost $ 1 dollar each. So if you wish to drop a player and pick up another it will cost a total of $ 2 dollars. Each trade will cost a dollar per each team participating in the trade. All money collected from transactions will be placed in the bonus pot.

Transactions fees MUST be paid before the start of the week 13 game, no exceptions. If you are not paid up your team will receive no playoff points and you will be banned from the league.

Keeper fees The keeper fee is $ 10 dollars for each player kept, with a max of three. All money collected from keeper fees will be placed in the bonus pot.

ALL fee money collected will be paid out 100%

(1) League Champ--$300
(2) League runner up--$125
(3) Division champ (2)--$70
(4) Toilet Bowl winner--$25
(5)Regular season weekly point leader (13)--$10

That makes up the money from the entry fee.

Then there’s the bonus pot. The bonus pot comes from keeper / transactions fee money collected. Of that

$ 25 to each of the championship playoff teams. (6)
$ 60 to the 3rd place team

Then the remained of the ?bonus pot? Money will be divided between the league champ and runner up. 75% / 25%

—Each owner will have a roster made up of any combination of 17 NFL players and Special Teams/Defenses. The only roster requirement is that each owner has enough players on their roster from each position to field a starting team.

Waiver Wire Waiver wire requests must be made by 4:00 AM Central on Wednesday. They will be processed at 7:00 AM Central on Wednesday. Players on the waiver wire will be awarded based on team record (worst to first). After 7:00 Am on Wednesday all waiver wire players not claimed will be released into the free agent pool, which will be available on a first come first served basis.

There will be transaction fees for each player dropped and added. $ 1 dollar each.

Free agents Free agents can be added at any time, following rules on Fleaflicker. You can never have more than 17 players on your roster at any time.

Injured reserve There will be no disabled list. So if a player gets injured you can either keep him on your roster or release him and replace him with a free agent.

Trades Must be made through the Fleaflicker site. Once you log into the league, there is a TRADES tab on the top, click on it. The next screen will have the option to propose a new trade. Click on this and then follow the instructions. Once both teams have agreed to the trade, the commish and rest of the league will then review the trade.

Each team participating in the trade will be charged $1 dollar transaction fee. One team can pay both teams transaction fee as part of the trade.

What can be traded Players, draft picks and future draft picks can be traded. If a team chooses to trade a future draft pick, they must be paid in full for that season before the trade can go up for review.
Three different trade periods Trade period # 1 starts after the rosters have been cleared of non-keepers. In trade period # 1 teams can only trade picks. Trade period # 2 starts after completion of the keeper draft. In trade period # 2 players and picks may be traded, however trades including players must have an even number of players, so that each team has three players heading into the annual draft. Trade period # 3 starts after the completion of the annual draft. In period # 3 players and picks may be traded and players in deals can be an uneven number. All trades are subjected to the transaction fee of $ 1 per team, per trade.

Approval/rejection of trades Once a trade has been agreed upon by both owners, there will be a 48hr period where the league will review the trade. The other owners should review the trade ASAP. If an owner feels the trade is unfair they can vote for the trade to be vetoed. It will take 5 veto votes to veto the trade. Once the trade has been vetoed it will be removed.

If a trade results in a roster not being legal (2-1 or 3-2 type trades), the owner acquiring the higher number of players will be required to drop enough players to have a legal roster. This must be done ASAP. If this is not done by the start of the next week, the team will not receive credit for the newly acquired player(s). The team with the lower number of players will need to add players from the Free Agent list until their roster is legal.

Trade deadline There is no weekly trade deadline. However for players to get exchanged in time to start that week, the trade must be submitted no later than 48 hours before the start of the first game that week.
Trade deadline for the season is Week 10 of the NFL schedule. Trades must be submitted no later than 24 hours prior to the start of the first week 10 game.

Future draft choices Once again this is important… of future draft choices will be allowed. However the team trading away the future draft pick(s) will need to be paid in full for that following season.
Post season transactions In the Post season teams will be allowed to make one add and one drop a week. There will be no transaction fees for post season moves.
Keeper Info Each team can keep up to 3 players from the previous season. Each player kept will cost $ 10 and that money goes into the bonus pot. You don't have to keep any players if you don't want to. It's all part of the strategy of this league.

For teams keeping less than three players, there will be a Keeper draft. That will be held a week or so before the league draft.

The Keeper draft will be made up of players not kept by other teams. Rookies drafted in the NFL that year are not eligible for the Keeper draft.

Draft information
Keeper draft For teams keeping less than three players, they will participate in a Keeper draft that will start on August 1st and be held on the leagues message board.

If every team keeps 3 players there will not be a Keeper draft. This draft will also be based on the final standings in the previous season, in case there is more than one team participating.

There can be up to 3 rounds in the keeper draft

Round 1 will be for teams that don't keep any players.
Round 2 will be for teams that keep one player.
Round 3 will be for teams that keep two players.

Annual Draft Will be held in early to mid August every year. Usually the second or third Sunday ay 2:00 PM CST. Draft is held live on the league page at fleaflicker.

The first two rounds of the Annual draft will be straight and then snake. Based on worst to first standings the previous season.

Example= Round # 1 will be 1-12, Round # 2 1-12, Round # 3 12-1, Round # 4 1-12 and so on.

*Picks in the annual draft can be traded, however picks in the keeper draft cannot.
