I plan on keeping Brees/Rice, but having difficulty deciding between Gore/Wayne. Normally I would keep Gore, but I have the 38 and 48th picks and I'm concerned there won't be any WR talent left for a legit #1. Whereas I think RBs have more depth this year.
Which 3 would you keep?
---OR---
Would you try to trade Gore/Wayne for Andre Johnson. The owner of that team needs some depth and he could be interested.
Two things you need to include for us to be able to fully evaluate this for you.. Does every have to keep three players, then the draft starts at pick 31? or can people draft in the rd. they aren't keeping a player? What is the starting roster requirements (1QB, 2RB, 2WR, Flex, etc)?
I don't know if I could give an owner gore and wayne for AJ. Think about how much better you made his team vs. the marginal difference in your upgrade. If you wanted to give him gore and wayne for AJ and a high pick. He totally may do something like that considering he wouldn't be able to pick up a gore at said pick. Just some food for thought.
I think he would throw in a high pick with AJ for the pair.
Where would he pick if he just keeps two players...take a look and see what players would be available for him in the third if he only keeps two, then compare that player's value to gore. If it is a situation where he knows that he could get either gore or r.wayne (depending on who you throw back) with his third rd. pick it may be difficult to pull off a trade.

There's no way I would advise keeping Brees over Rice, Gore, or Wayne.
I have to respectfully disagree with this post. Here is why:
With Qbs getting 6pts for TDs, there is a significant dropoff after the 5th QB. Some would argue after Rodgers, Brees and manning..there is big drop off. If he must gore then I would drop wayne before Brees. I think the OP has a good strategy. In 10-man leagues w/ 6pt TDs the stud QBs can win championships more than a WR can.
I think WR is always way deeper than RB and shoud try to solidify that postion with the Keepers. I am not so sure Wayne is a legit #1 this year anyway with those other 2 yound WRs and Clark and the 2 pass catching backs. If you can package Gore and Wayne for AJ and a high pick, I think that could be worth it, but I have never been a huge Gore fan ever. AJ is a stud without a doubt and I would probably pull the trigger depending on who you could get with the pick(for me though it would have to be his first pick). With no trade, I like Brees Gore and Rice. Don't be afraid to take a Gates or Clark over some other WRs with you first pick if there are just so/so #2 WRs left. There is some youth at WR this year that could be hyge that you can get later.
Can you actually make a trade using Gore and Wayne for AJ before deciding on your final keepers?
I wouldn't empty down your roster to Rice, Gore, and Wayne just to try and go after AJ otherwise. But if you can take those players and trade them before finalizing your roster give it a shot.
Otherwise I would keep Brees, Rice, Gore if you think there will be decent WRs left in the 1st Rd. He has 2 new O Linemen in front of him, and supposedly Alex Smith is looking better this year. He's always been a concern for injuries, but I like his chances this year.

I guess it depends on how deep you think legit #1 QBs run this year. By my count, there are 8. And about 4 more that could easily crack top-10 status. Even at 6 points per TD, the difference between QB1 and QB8 is a few points per week. Knowing that, give me Schaub/Rivers/Favre a few rounds later while keeping Wayne and drafting a WR2 before my QB.
Brees is a sexy QB but you pay a premium for keeping him while your other roster spots suffer.
