deAngelo/Turner and/or WR at 1.12/2.1 turn please?

Postby Waterloo » Sun Aug 01, 2010 2:59 pm

Hello

First time here, and it looks to be a very deep source of info and assistance.

My 2nd year in football, and 1st in PPR, though I have many years baseball experience.

So here's my quandry..

In my standard scoring PPR league (QB,2RB, 3WR, Flex, TE)

should I take a solid RB (Turner or Williams if they fall?) along with a solid WR (Moss/Marshall/Wayne/Fitzgerald/White) or simply take 2 of the best WR's?

No guarantee who will be there, but trying to think ahead as my draft is tomorrow.

Many thanks!

I'm new to PPR as well and I have been trying to figure out a proper strategy as well. That being said, I see that your league starts 3 WRs. Also, Turner and Williams do not rack up many receptions. In this case, I would go WR/WR and try to pick up a decent back--such as Forte--in the 4th.

Hawk - Thank you very much for the reply and advice.

I was tempted to go WR/WR, but read on here that getting one of the top 8 RB (ending with Williams) was beneficial.

Now, I'm confused what to do if he is there at 1.12.

funny, having come into football recently with the ' RB are gold' mentally drilled into me.

:-)

I'm having the same issue...it's always been, RB/RB. I took Moss in Rd1, years ago, and I was laughed at for like 10 minutes. Times have definitely changed.

I was just thinking in terms of receptions. Those 2 RBs combined for a total of 34 receptions last year and 17 total TDs. Say Moss and Wayne are available; they accrued a total of 183 receptions and 23 TDs. My thought process may be flawed, but this is how I see the situation.

With all of this being said, I doubt both Turner and Williams will be available at your spots. Also, I'd say only White/Fitz will be available when you pick. Good luck.

Take the best #1 RB available and if Fitz or Andre or Calvin Johnson is there go with a top 3 WR. Solidify the RB spot with a legit #1 RB with minimal share time in a RBBC.
