CJ for 1st Rounder vs Keeping WHIR

Postby woods_opc » Wed Aug 04, 2010 4:42 pm

I am in a 14 team H2H league with standard scoring. 2 RB, 3 WR and no flex.
We carry over 4 keepers year over year with no negative impact for keeping (like losing a draft pick); though 4 keepers must be kept. 8 teams make the playoffs so the bottom 6 go into a lottery to determine order. The lottery is not weighted.

My keeper options are:

Adrian Peterson
Michael Turner
Jamaal Charles
Calvin Johnson
Sidney Rice
Tom Brady

I have been offered a first round pick (lotto pick at that) for CJ straight up. I ideally would want to hold onto CJ, but do you if I cant find another deal is this worth it and take Rice or Charles in his place?

I was also offered a 2nd and 4th round for Brady; would you do this instead or as well, or neither?

Also out of these four who would you keep assuming the trade is made vs not made

Thanks for the help

I'd say don't do any of the trades and keep Peterson, Turner, Brady, and Johnson. That's a championship team right there.

I dont like keeping QB's if a lot of other teams are keeping a QB, u can probably swoop Brady back in the 2nd or 3rd round of your draft.

I would keep AP, Turner and Charles for sure.

Would only entertain trading CJ if you think u can upgrade the position via the draft, which given his consensus top 8 postion ranking, I think will be hard to do with 14 teams keeping 4 players.

I would go ahead and keep him with the 3 backs, and maybe try and make a deal at some point for turner with a player desperate for RB help.

Help me please

I would see if you can get a similar deal for Charles......I like Calvin, and the hype on Charles is high...someone will bite on him......my prediction is he will be a disappointment this year......trade while value high......and keep your top 4.....I would also try and trade rice but his hip injury will cause some issue.....

I would rank...

AP
Turner
Calvin
Brady
Charles
Rice
srlarson
Offensive Coordinator
Offensive Coordinator
