10 team, 3 regular + 1 rookie keeper league. Standard scoring plus .5 ppr. My current keepers are: Rice, Turner, Moss and Beanie(rookie from last year) NON-SNAKE DRAFT, I am slotted 8th in every round. Through a trade, I now have the #1 pick in our draft, which I plan on using on Ryan Mathews(I also still have the #8 overall). I have recently rec'd two offers for the pick: A: My #1 overall plus my 6th and 9th rounders (#56 and 88 overall) for #6 overall, plus 2 3rd rounders (#26 and 29 overall)
B: My #1 overall, plus my 4th (#38) and Rice, for #7 overall, plus 6th and 7th (#57 and 67 overall) and AD
I'm hesitant to give up the #1 because I have Mathews rated as a top 15 overall player, and the player next on my draft board is outside of the top 25. Plus, I'll be able to keep him in my rookie spot indefinitely(currently held by Beanie). Deal A, though, gives me a ton in return in terms of value. As of now I don't have a 2nd or 3rd round pick. Deal B is intriguing obviously because AD is involved, but then I don't know if the difference between AD and Rice is Mathews, plus I'm not thrilled w/ the other picks involved.
What do you guys think? I'm leaning towards declining both offers, but deal A has me really thinking. Any thoughts of counters? I'm almost certain either owner will use the pick on Mathews, and if not, he's going #2 for sure.
First of all, thanks for the help on mine. In terms of the deals, I would pass on both. In a partial PPR league, B doesn't make much sense to me because Rice is a force in terms of receptions. He was the Ravens top wr last year. I wouldn't trade Ray Rice, even for Peterson or Johnson. In addition to that, the difference between the two does not equal Mathews. The first offer is a little more intriuging, but I still don't like it well enough to say yes. I think Mathews is more valuable than most in this draft. The question I have is, what would your team look like under #1 or without #1. You already have solide RBs, so it may provide you with a better team. personally, I would deal Beanie Wells to get higher picks. That's my two cents. Hope it helps.

I would also decline both offers. While the first seems like a decent option, I would still prefer to have the opportunity to take Mathews. I would look at it more from a long term aspect. After this season, you may be keeping a top 10 RB every season.
The other option isn't even close in my opinion. As the previous poster talked about, Rice is actually better than AD in my book. I actually have him equal to AD now that Favre is up in the air...let alone it being a PPR league. Therefore, he is asking for Rice, Mathews, and better draft picks for AD. I wouldn't trade Rice for AD straight up, so I definitely wouldn't take this deal.
I think you are in good shape taking Mathews first overall and that is what I would do.
Both Rice and Matthews are solid backs and should def not be given up in a keeper league. I can guarantee that both Matthews and Rice will not only thrive this year, but for many years to come. We saw what Rice can do last year and there's reports that he's been in the gym this offseason bulking up. He's gonna be a beast and might finally get some goal line touches! And Matthews is coming into the league under great circumstances where he gets to start behind one of the best lines in the league and will pick up right where LT left off (a few years ago anyway). DON'T TRADE!!!
